  • @marcespinoza6068

Theory: Michael's reason for hating Toby so much is because he got a divorce. During the 'Conflict Resolution' episode Michaels tells Toby "Your solution to solving problems is just getting divorced". He phrased it this way because this was how his parents solved their "problems" and his parents getting divorced was the worst part of his childhood.

It still kinda checks out with me though. Maybe she lost her money in their divorce or spent most of the money on her cats? She always loved her cats and I remember her buying a particular breed of cat that cost her thousands. She has a ton of cats and has been shown to drop a lot of money on them for their wellbeing. As for Oscar it costs a lot of money to run a successful campaign when your going into politics and Oscar has only had a average paying job as an account so that money had to have come from somewhere. And as for the last and least assuming guy of all I always got confused as to where a guy so seemingly dumb managed to scrounge up that kind of money to buy a bar and as the guy on the video said his explanation was just too questionable.

Paul Liberstein (Office writer) has stated many times in interviews that he (Toby) is not the Scranton strangler and in fact the strangler isn't even a murderer... he is too weak to kill the people, he just chokes them and runs away. Toby is not too weak, this leads to a theory that Gabe might be... Any ways, Toby (writer) has officially confirmed that Toby (character) is not the strangler

Yes, toby was not present during the Scranton strangler car chase which i think was co incidence because later during jury duty toby was convinced that it was not the real Scranton strangler. Considering Gabe's mental health where he overthink stuff and acts as a maniac for example when he cornered andy to tell him to stay away from erin even there was nothing sort of going on at the moment plus his obsession with horror murder and not to mention wierd energy powders he had plus remember that wierd tape he played during Christmas party with everyone in it without even their knowledge showing that he has great sneaking abilities. And DM was bought back by David Wallace and gabe moved away the incidents stopped.

The first one with Pam's art is sweet. Gil has no reason to lie or be polite, since he doesn't know Pam is listening. Pam understands this, and that's why it hits harder than anything anyone could say to her face. I also love the magic moment at the end where Michael is still proud of her drawing (in the same episode). Michael confirms that no matter what she is, or stives to become, his Dunder-Mifflin family will never be undeserving of his love. Just brilliant 3-dimensional character-work.

No Jim wasn't like that. He also said for a number of times that he didn't want to go back to Scranton because of Pam. Karen wasn't a distraction, she was real to Jim while Pam was controversial on her feelings because she was to scared tbh with her feelings towards him. Of course Jim still have feelings for her every time in a day, but he knew how dangerous that was and for the sole reason he ended with Karen is that Pam only started pursuit Jim when she knew is Jim what she really wanted not because is Jim that wanted her. A lot of people remind that Jim still likes her after she told that to Karen, but he still dated Karen because he knew that Karen was real and Pam a fantasy. So Karen was right about Pam being totally a bitch, because Jim told her exactly what happened before coming to the Stamford branch. Karen was right about that to the point when Pam and Karen was about to meet again Pam was totally afraid by that fact. Karen forgive Pam for that since it has happened a long time ago. Let me remind you Karen cried over weeks for that guy so it is totally plausible that Pam was a bitch that stoled her boyfriend in her view. Nobody sees through her side of views tho.

@@aveteranplayer6403 Karen was just a distraction for Jim because he needed a wall between himself and Pam. Jim did the same thing to Katie. If anyone was a fantasy in the situation it was the guy that Karen wanted Jim to be. Jim and Pam got married and had two children. That's not a fantasy. So that means Jim's feelings were REAL! There were two Jim's. Scranton Jim and Stamford Jim. Karen wanted Stamford Jim. Pam wanted Scranton Jim. Jim even admitted to Pam that he wasn't himself since he had come back. So no Pam wasn't a bitch for wanting Jim to be himself. If expressing your feelings for someone makes you a bitch then so was Jim by telling Pam he loved her just a few weeks before she was getting married. Also Jim staying with Karen even after he admitted to having feelings for Pam shows that she was just a distraction because Karen staying with Jim gave him the excuse to keep using her for his own means. That's why Jim dumped Karen for Pam when Pam expressed her feelings for him on the beach. Karen was sad and desperate for staying with Jim. That's why she was so eager to get Jim out of Scranton by moving to NY. Karen let herself get hurt by staying with Jim. The J/K relationship was real for Karen, but not Jim. It was Karen that cried for weeks while Jim was already buying Pam an engagement ring. For Jim, Karen was out of sight, out of mind. Karen was irrelevant to him. However, that never happened for him when it came to Pam, which also made Karen foolish because if Jim still had feelings for Pam while in Stamford, then why would NY make a difference? Jim and Karen's feelings were just one sided. In the end it didn't matter for Karen either because she got her own happy ending.

In islolation I get the idea the wrong guy could get convicted but how does Toby end up as jury duty for it?! Jury duty is a group of people selected at random - Toby ends up as Jury duty for the case supposedly actually about him..? Also really don't get the link about the Police Chase, if they're chasing Toby, admittedly can't remember if the police catch the suspect or not but if so: Toby is caught... .. and then in reply to the more recent it's just reiterating @nostalzilla 's point: How stupid are you if you're inoccent of being the strangler, to then strangle someone who enrages you.

As pertaining to theory 2, I think the Scranton branch is the most profitable BECAUSE they are not in a big city. First and foremost, it is often mentioned how large chains like Staples are running companies like Dunder Mifflin into the ground. You'd expect these big chains to have a much larger presence, and therefore a much stronger competitive position, in big cities, and not in relatively small markets like Scranton. Furthermore, when Michael starts his own paper company, their accountant mentions that they work on an a variable cost model, i.e. the more business they attract, the heigher their costs. In areas like big cities, Dunder Mifflin will potentially have a lower profit margin on their products, and have to commit more manpower to staying ahead of competitors, due to the competition with large chains, than Scranton does. This all hurts their bottom line, and doesn't help them in a variable cost model. I don't think money laundring is what makes Scranton such a successful branch.

One time, I saw Toby in New York at the Museum of Natural History. I screamed “Toby!” and he said “Hi” awkwardly before walking away. My biggest regret in life to this day is not asking him if he’s really the Scranton Strangler.

With the Toby/strangler theory - the reason there is a murder on Ceces birth day is because it would’ve been a trigger for Toby as it was the birth of pams child with Jim and not with him!

#1 - Not a theory, you’re just describing character development. #2 - I think I’m in the minority saying this but I totally agree and think this is completely probable theory. There are so many episodes where Oscar describes business, investing, finances, he really know his stuff. And the ex con episode Kevin tells camera crew he had Martin explain what he did to go to jail because “it sounds a lot like what I do here every day”, Kevin also talks normal in the very first episode or two. He doesn’t start talking “dumb” until after that. I believe he answers Pam’s question and says “Yeah, you’re probably right” and he says it completely normal. It’s the first thing Kevin ever says and it’s also the ONLY time he doesn’t say dialogue in his “dumb” voice. He’s also a talented singer/drummer combo-not an easy task for someone labeled stupid. He’s also a good golfer, which is more of a mental game than a physical one. #3 - Definitely true. #4 - Definitely Toby, Gabe, Robert California, or Creed.

As for the hints for fraud, in Goodbye, Toby in Oscar's cutaway he explains Ryan is arrested for fradulantly fixing numbers to fool shareholders. This is something that was going on for a number of episdoes but was continually ignored, even though EVERYONE was knowledgable of it in Scranton and did not hide it (which means corporate knew). I think it was when soemone outside the office (possibly Karen after Branch Wars) saw the fixing of numbers amd Ryan was thrown under the bus. Otherwise, why would the company bring him back on? And Oscar was quite confident in being in the clear even though he works in accounting and would normally have had his numbers audited to make sure real sales added up properly.

Its not so much that Toby feels bad for the wrongly convicted, but rather that he wants credit for the murder in that deranged way that criminals brag about what they have done; he can't stomach the fact that someone else has gotten credit... of course, he would never reveal that it was him either

Finally someone who gets it!! I hate it when people bring up this point in theory discussions. Ultimately, serial killers want recognition for their killings. The reason why Toby seems "remorseful" for helping convict the wrong person is because it's not remorse, but regret. He regrets allowing another person to take the fall and credit for what he did. Up until this point in the show, Toby has literally failed at everything- his marriage, his daughter, Pam, etc. He realizes this is his one "accomplishment" and he regrets someone else taking credit for it.

MONEY LAUNDERING IS TRUE! So I was watching the "Customer Survey" episode and this is a dialogue between Jim and Dwight: -Dwight: But then Dunder Mifflin would need to be a front for money laundering and there is little evidence of that. -Jim: Is there some evidence? My theory is that Dwight found out about it, but because Angela is obviously involved, he doesn´t tell the police. Does anyone have any other theories?

5:30 *Isnt it suspicious, how the most **_profitable branch_** in the entire company, is the least productive?...* The Office seems to be a cover for the activities of other, more nefarious schemes. It's certainly not an accident that a goofball, chidlike character of a boss, would run the most *continually profitable* branch -- in all of the company, which is publicly traded, by the way -- in one of the smallest cities in the region, *without keeping tabs* on his employees (chicken pot pie, anyone?), and yet, somehow, they would be the most successful out of everyone. The pure logic of it all shouldn't make any sense, to the reasoning mind, of any viewers.
