what i "learned". 5% how an engine works (didn't explain shifting, clutch , power transmission, cams, importance of cam and ignition timing, etc ) 45% lubricant, lubricant, lubricant. 50% what the spiny bits looks like.

Not all motorcycles are unit construction even these days. Some modern bikes have both gear box and motor oil separately because the these two parts of the engine are separate.

My 92 Suzuki DR 350 has over 30,000 miles trail and street. Still going strong. Wide ratio six speed gear ⚙️ box.

From what I remember a few decades ago it was Yamaha that revamped the 4-stroke engines where they can actually compete with 2-strokes in motocross. Previously, 4-strokes were considered just too sluggish as race engines.

That was in the year 1998 when Yamaha introduced their four stroke motocross bike to compete in the 250cc category. They've used a 400cc engine since two strokes are 1.6x more powerful than four stroke so they used a 400 cc to compensate for the power difference. It was the 1998 Yamaha Yz400f, and it did win against the other two stroke bikes, despite the criticism that it wasn't a race bike but rather a "toy play bike"

That thing Is really important. As It's mounted on the fastest spinning shaft, It works as flywheel & it's weight is just enough to center balance it. And the Cavity holds the alternator, To power the spark plugs & Lamps.... Hence its one of the most imp part of engine

Why does all engine mechanical function animation videos is made by yamaha.? You didnt noticed it but the engine i saw here is from yamaha xtz125 same as ybr125. Is it a common or easiest model of an motorcycle engine? I wonder why i always see this engine in animations.

Well, most piston motorcycle engines work exactly the same, but might have a slightly different design. This engine shown right now is pretty universal for most applications and this platform is used across many dirt bikes. I think it's just a coincidence that you noticed only yamaha engines in these animations. Honda and many more produce very simmilar ones.

We don't need to have the clutch pack lubricated....we run a dry clutch!

Dry clutches don’t share any lubricant that’s bathing the engine.

One intake valve and one exhaust valve? It's a single cylinder engine. Granted nowadays it is not as common to have only two valves per cylinder it is still completely sufficient.

its a 4 stroke not 4 valve as in there is four stages to one full rotation of the engine suck/compress/bang/blow
