I wonder what sort innerdoor the big lift would have had originally. A scissor gate perhaps? The interlocks on those big doors look interresting.

Narrow door panels like those are a pain to set up and maintain. The rollers that they run on are just too close together.

Quadruple-speed center-opening doors

-Any reason why they wouldn't go for conventional shaft doors? Cost saving?- Ah, these were installed in 1955 when automatic doors were in their infancy. The outside indicators are mounted pretty interestingly too, maybe because of the mesh shaft.

In the 80s I went to the Kone factory in Finland it was very automated

I wonder if these elevators were used for heart patients. You should have seen how I would work on a heart transport elevator. Sometimes, I would run in there, sweep up as much trash as possible off of the floor, wipe the doors down the floor would end up shining like glass when I got done cleaning.

If this is like a elevator by me in a museum that has Schindler doors like that, there's a lazor and anything in the crack and it stops. (I live in by Washington DC in the USA)
