BRIGHT SIDE I solved the first riddle in a little different way...The swimmer told the Inspector to hurry if he wanted to catch the guy...but the Inspector had never mentioned anything about catching someone and asked casually...so i figured that the swimmer could be the thief..Is this explanation Valid?

I remember many years ago. There were Christmas tree lights that if one blub blew. None of them worked. All Christmas tree lights are not like that. So the inspector couldn't have sumized the tree WOULDN'T have lite up.

If they really did spend Christmas Eve at their friends house then they wouldn't have had time to open the presents and they would have been tired from the day so they slept in instead of getting up early which is why they were still sitting there despite it being Christmas morning.

You can buy Christmas lights in both series AND parallel configurations. If a bulb was missing, a series string of lights would have either the entire string not function, or at least part of the string not function, as many longer strings have multiple individual series sets which wire to each other in parallel, making up the entire string of lights. If a faulty (burnt out) bulb was left in place, there is usually a "shunt" wire near the base of each bulb that shorts that one bulb to maintain continuity so the rest of the series set stays lit. In contrast, a totally parallel set doesn't split the entire mains voltage up amongst the bulbs, but provides each bulb with total mains voltage (120V in the United States). This means a missing bulb will not affect the rest of a parallel set at all.

I don't know if this test was just to make me feel intelligent.

Yes, like dzerkle said, it was confusing because the answer is wrong. And you cannot know number of cheating husbands beforehand. All the cheating husbands are going to die after the number of nights how many husbands are cheating. If five husbands are cheating, no one dies in the first four nights but all those five are going to die after fifth night. So you know number of cheating husbands after the night when they die. Explanation: If one husband is cheating, he will die first night because his wife doesn’t know anyone cheating so she knows that it’s her husband. All other wifes know about this one man and they expect him to die first night. If two husbands are cheating, those two wives know only one man who is cheating and hence they think he should die first night. When he don’t die, they know that her husband is also cheating and both two husbands are going to die second night. All other wives knew about two husbands cheating and hence they follow this logic and could expect that those two men die second night. If there is three men cheating, all three wives know only two husbands who are cheating and hence they expect those two to die after second night, when they don’t die, they know that their husband is also cheating and hence all three die after third night, just as rest of the wifes expected because they knew three husbands who were cheating. Following this logic, all n husbands who are cheating are going to stay alive first n-1 nights but after that they are all exposed and are going to die after n’th night.

Sunbathing is usually done completely nude, but since I don't see her clothes around her either, some possibilities could be either A, she put her clothes within one of those bushes, B, she left her clothes in her car, so she could meet up with friends or run errands later, or C, and this is also highly plausible, the one who took her bracelet, the guy with the fishing rod, also hooked her clothes. I say those are likely because they're not even under that book that's next to her.

It basically supposes that the one wife will know that for sure a husband is cheating. If no one is killed the first night, then all the husband would be killed the next night. All the women would automatically assume that it’s her husband if no one dies the first night.

Rather an old puzzle. Modern Christmas tree lights continue to function with one or more LED "bulbs" out of order.

How old is the christmas tree puzzle? Not all light strings are series...Some are parallel. And nowadays many are wired in a manner that will keep the remaining bulbs burning even if they ARE in series. Why do I keep opening this guy's videos?

The question didnt even include the possibility of multiple husbands cheating, or messages being sent each day. But it did say each other wife knew he was cheating (thus implying only 1 cheat) and that 99 knew who it was so i answered 1 (if he had said each day an email is sent to all wives saying someone is cheating it would have been possible to get the correct answer of if he said each other wife knew 'who' (instead of 'he') was cheating. Then you also could have gotten answer

I have a problem with the first one. Simply saying there is a fast current does not imply the likely hood of getting across and being able to be straight across the river because a) "fast", "wide", and "rough" are not quantified, and can be interpreted in wildly different ways between individuals (one person could think of whitewater rapids, and another could think of a calm, but speedy flow) b) because the flow of the river is not quantified, its effect on those trying to cross is is similarly objective, and c) in the picture provided, the figure provided can be interpreted as parallel or at an angle to the starting point. Therefore, these reasons are not valid basis for the conclusion because only one very specific interpretation supports it, with the majority of them not supporting the conclusion.

If you look at the pictures again, you will see the color of the water is still the same all the way to the other side except the shores, if it was deep, you would notices a much darker blue color based on the depth itself to be in the middle. With the man on the other-side to be a tools to fool the detective to wear the same red pant, the water level where the man is standing on is just above the ankle, thus you will be just paddling the boat to nowhere as it isn't deep enough to move across. You would just walked across the river instead and caught him in a lies.

on the fourth riddle, the man with the inflatable boat could have also been the culprit, since he could have walked across his boat; leaving no footprints.

The first one is because the boy was to suspicious. The reply came immediately after with means he could have prepared the answer which means he could be the criminal.

actually there are two answers to the first one, one being the answer in the video and the other being this one. a normal person would need some time to try to remember if he saw anybody and hence would not be able to reply immediately.

The second riddle isn't true, because nowadays most of the Christmas light have a mechanism in it so if one of the bulbs breaks the rest will still work.

If it brakes the others will work, but if it's missing none of them will work. Broken and missing are different.

For the first riddle I thought of another explanation They seamed so instant with their answer and how could they have known that that guy was the criminal

For the last riddle I randomly guessed the fishing rod guy and got it right!

i can't understand the third one.Rest of them were easy.

You guys should watch ‘can you solve the famously difficult green-eyed logic puzzle’ by TedEd. It’s practically the same kind of situation but goes into more depth. Thats how i solved this one cuz i used my knowledge from that vid. :) hope it helps

I’m not really that intelligent but for some reason I got them all correct lol

3/4 the third got me, the fisherman was obvious but I saw feet size, Christmas tree wasn’t even plugged in and the boy answered way to fast not to be suspicious

About the second one. The tree isn't plugged in. A missing bulb? I think that's too obscure. Another sign they left in a hurry is that they forgot to plug the tree in, so there's no way the neighbor could sing next to "a multicolored tree".

TNT AND WAR Many people plug their lights in the tree out before going to bed. You don’t need them asleep anyway, and it would only consume energy and make a risk of fire.

LetsPlayWouterGames True, but the only way to get the answer 100% was if you just happened to already know that a string of lights won't work with a missing bulb. Seeing that it was unplugged was about as close as a lot of people could get.

AdraicStarks I actually noticed the fact that a bulb was missing but I had no clue that this makes it stop working...I mean mine misses at least five bulbs and it works just fine

Am i the only that is confused about that the girl at the ending doesnt wear clothes

I've only lived with 2 wire lights on my tree or no lights so a single wire is something I didnt realize but the tree is unplugged so it's not even lit

I actually got the last one right haha that was easy

Yeah, the apartment one didn't make any sense since why would any woman suspect it was her husband that was guilty without any proof? Since it was pointed out that all the wives gossiped plus they all got the same e-mail it would be logical to assume that was indicated for a reason and that they would all know that one of their husbands was cheating. Other than the two cheating spouses no one would know or could prove who that was without more evidence or further proof. The scene makes no sense and with the situation set as it was it couldn't have been possible to make any conclusion.

Ok this video proves my friend right. He said I had no brain.

On the last one, it could have been the kid with the flippers, the flippers would make it so his weight was evened out and would act like how snowshoes work,they make you go on top
