Your Bees must be very strong to fly about in such wind. they did not like what you did they are all up in your face. Is that a plastic Hive behind you nice cars sorry i look at every thing. You must be on top of a hill don't hills or land only in the distance. Love the bay window in the house they don't build houses like that any more just square your house looks not old it looks about 12 or 14 years old. Love bees very industrious little creatures and the honey is a super food i love honey i don't use sugar would give my right arm to get raw unadulterated honey. thanks Allen did enjoy that video i do not keep bees have no place to put them i live in a town

Stephen Marchant You can add more frames to keep them busy or use soap and water and kill the bees

Look for videos on the demaree. This prevents having to increase colonies but I had to do it twice on a colony last year. It’s a lot of work and you have to follow dates otherwise they might swarm anyway.

Can you split two hives and put together the other 2 queenless hives?

Only one question. Won’t the foragers that fly back to the original spot come back and raid the other hive?

THIS will definitely stop swarming, however I prefer to move Queen and few frames of brood.. Very good video though, will most Definitely put the brakes on the Swarm Impulse

Twice I tried this method this summer, on both occasions they swarmed anyway.

what about the second box (the one with no queen) do we take it out of the 3km range or not ? ...

this is not necessary as the nurse bee's inside the new hive have never been outside so they think the hive is their home, once the new brood hatches and they begin flying then they just come back to the hive they have always known as their home.

Is there a minimum distance you need to move the hive?

if you move more than three foot because you don't like the location of the hive than you'll lose most of your worker bees as they would go back to the same location that it was originally at.

I go three miles with the queen right hive and feed them. I find that the foragers that fly back to queens hive will return and rob out the other if not moved.

They all fly into the new empty hive that he put in the position of the hive that was going to swarm. The old hive that he moved will be left with no flying bees, only nurse bees. The nurse bee will raise a new queen.
