We bought my grandfathers property from my uncle. Grandpa had built the house, tractor barn, smoke house and barn in the mid 1940's. It's hard to believe that as early as the 70's my grandfather was still homesteading Let's just say everything he built was one-of-of-a-kind...most unusual, especially the house, but I wouldn't trade it for nothing on earth. We've been trying to re-roof everything and the barn looks aged and rickety like your trying to make your barn look LOL!!! We've worked on it though and it's looking better. Had to replace a lot of wood to strengthen it. We put a new red tin roof on it, now it's a home for goats! I love your rustic crafts! It brings such wonderful memories of good days gone by and a deep nostalgia for love ones who've passed. TY Holly for sharing your knowledge of all things crafting. It means a lot to me. I adore the barn door. It reminds me of the one at my Aunts farm. Beautiful memories. She just past at the age of 103.

The barn you made looks like something you would see on a drive in the country. The way you made it look old and worn, so authentic! The trees are fantastic! Imagine a forest of them on a mantle. Only you could make a plastic frisbee and plastic little balls look like an antique wooden dish. Just love them all Holly! I agree with bringing the outdoor elements to the inside. When I was very young and didn't have much money, all my holiday decor,(and gifts) were made from pine, pinecones, birch, etc. They were the best times!! As I've grown older, I've gone back to that.

Wow! You really can’t see the paper on the tray! It turned out great! Even with the red ink smeared like a Star burst! All of these turned out so amazing! I think I’m going to re-create all of them!! I love all four but OMG your barn is so stinking cute. You are so right people used to bring outside twigs, pinecones and etc. inside for decor. Years ago my friend's mom used to bring a piece of thorn bush inside and decorate it by putting those colored spice drops on the thorns. I always loved it. I still like to make cedar wreaths using coat hangers. Lol. Thank you so much for sharing your awesomeness and amazing creations. Hugs from MS

Hi. If you find that gluing it down still causes bleeding, then either mist your paper front and back lightly before, or use a dry glue like a glue stick to glue down, and then mist, and seal. Sounds complicated but it goes fast and dries fast. Costs pennies and worth it. xxx

I do agree that the red ink blurring only adds to the tray. North Pole looks just like soft peppermint sticks you can purchase at Cracker Barrel
