I personally believe when a officer breaks the law. They should get twice the amount of jail time since they are the ones upholding the law

In other Countries, like mine, Australia, Police are held to a higher standard. And Police Corruption is rare. We had a huge problem with it in the 80’s. And they had a Royal Commission to investigate the NSW Police Force. It took over 10 years. Many Officers were fired or charged with crimes and did prison time. America has terrible standards and encourages Police corruption by not holding them to a higher standard. America is a joke. In every way possible.

In the spirit of 'Speeding Fines Are Doubled In A Construction Zone'. I think its time to update all American Oaths! America deserves Hi Tech oath giving and taking, a 21rst Century Update. Oath takers look into an 8K camera and explain what they know about what they're signing up to do, and how they understand the severe consequences for oath-breaking. All oath uploaded to public domain. Fakers & breakers immediately get whats coming to them... double.

They can because body cams are public record and victims info is not always public. Example. Woman who is a victim of severe domestic violence, they have to call her info and the location of the shelter they are taking her too. I’m not saying it isn’t always used appropriately. But that’s an example why they have the ability to mute audio.

She went back and forth and back and forth trying to bother the victims and clearly stalling. It was clear she wanted to help her drunk supervisor. If her supervisor was a John Doe who had crasshed while DUI, she would've put him in cuffs 30 seconds after getting out of her cop car and all that shit show would've been over in 5 minutes. At the end, given the victims didn't give her any excuse and did everything 'by the book', she had no other choice but to take her friend to the polite station.

Cops doing whatever they felt like doing, they were worse than the criminals. LOL. I too reported incidents of wrong doing to IA,nothing happened. I lasted 2 /12 yrs ( the only reason I was a cop and lived in Philly was because I had a fiancee there )so our relationship ended, there was no longer a reason to stay a cop or continue to live in Philly. I did this shitty thankless job for 26 years. The first five was "routine patrol" (breaking up domestics and dealing with out of control kids) which got old real fast. As soon as I could get transferred into traffic, things were better. HOWEVER at that time in the late 70's to early '80's "policy" was if we caught another officer (ours or someone else's) we arranged for someone to pick them up and take them home or have whatever department they were with to came and take them home. THAT twisted me to no end. There were many times where I had to grit my teeth and let him skate. Police officers need to be held to a HIGHER STANDARD and yet that blue line protects bad guys.

There should be a rule where a officer cant assist their fellow officer in any way, someone higher up and of a different status should be the one to do that and that will omit all the special treatment, hugs, & kisses. Theres so much he did that would have been another charge for a civilian. I didnt know they could be so nice and deescalate a situation so well

The inability of these cops to accept responsibility for their actions is utterly reprehensible and what makes it worse is how complicit the investigating officers are. How on earth is a guy arrested for DUI allowed to keep his loaded gun on his hip inside a police station!! I’m pretty sure if this was a normal citizen he’d be in handcuffs or most probably dead by now!!!

"I respect you!" I wouldn't respect a colleague more if they tried to dirty my reputation and expected special treatment. He is a nest-💩er. I understand that you back up a partner when your job is difficult and you had to make a split-second tough decision. Or if you see them drunk before they do stupid stuff. But getting a slap on the wrist when you apparently have an alcohol issue at your job won't help.

But you must understand that even if you are a good cop who is not cool with other cops breaking the law, you have to be very careful how you handle it. You would go from being like to being hated overnight turning on a cop. Just like in the crime world. it is not different. They are just people. And a lot of them are not good people. Trust me, I know.

Yes, I totally agree. I had a police officer in Minnesota years ago that told me~~~~there was NO ONE HE COULD TRUST~~in his own department~~1983❗️ Plus, I took care of a cop in a hospital 🏥 who was from NY, he said the corruption is severe, and he wasn’t going to remain as a cop here in Florida.~~year 1991.

If a lot of them would be good people, then there would be no stigma about holding other cops accountable. I'm sorry, but you're a pussy if you day after day haul in people for these same things, but then turn into a crying mess when it's your time to face up to the music. A grown cop should be able to take his punishment and move on without becoming a 12 year old.
