I reached out to eMotimo and got to try out the Spectrum ST4. A 4-axis motion control "robot", that you control with a PlayStation 4 controller! This product helped stretch our stop motion capabilities, and try out new camera moves that we never thought were possible. It's compatibility with the stop motion program DragonFrame was the main reason I looked at this unit above others, and its "real-time" shooting capabilities in Dragonframe made it a great addition to a serious animators tool belt.

Some things to clarify:
-The Run and Gun bundle they sell includes the 2 and 4 foot configurations. If you wanted to spend the $150 its for adding an additional set of extension to make it 6 feet.
-Without Dragonframe, you might not be using the stand alone stop motion feature as intended. You set up the move, start it, and then ONLY ONCE, you hit X to pause it. From here you can either "scrub" or jog to a frame using the DPad (up/down/left/right buttons on left side), or fire off a frame and advance to the next one by hitting the R1 button (above the Right trigger). If you are hooked up to the camera port on your camera with the included shutter cables to the ST4, this will fire a shot and then advance it. Really simple to use and takes some of the camera touching out of the mix.
-eMotimo handles real time motion, no other third party vendor does. This is useful for those who want to set up hundreds of keyframes, or save and reload moves or work on multiday shoots. The real time functionality allows for easier previews of stop motion moves AND enables you to use it for live shots like product shoots and single pass shots.
