4 Aspects of Hungarian Pronunciation - slow Hungarian with subtitles

Szia!
Lilla vagyok. I make videos in Hungarian for those who are learning this amazing language.
I speak slowly using simple vocabulary.
Both Hungarian and English subtitles help you understand what I'm saying.
🤓In this video I show you some interesting aspects of Hungarian pronunciation. In the beginning you can hear the alphabet with all the 44 letters we have in the Hungarian alphabet, and then I show you some rules of pronunciation and some exceptions.

I love that I also pick up new words and expressions beside the topic, e.g. I didn’t know the word “king” (király) is used in the meaning “cool” 9:01

I only just started noticing consonant assimilation in speech (like mondta -> montta) in my Duolingo lessons. A couple of times the speaker said something I couldn't follow, but when I saw it written, I realised what was happening. So your new video was perfectly timed!

Szia Lilla. Ó, ez teljesen rám jellemző, én gyakran azt mondom, hogy "o" mondom "a" helyett! Nekem az "a" hang tényleg nehézséget okozott az elején 🙂

Great video! Interestingly, my native tongue Luxembourgish has a very similar difference between "a" and "o" to Hungarian. Also most other phonemes are quite similar, the only sounds that do not appear in Luxembourgish are "gy, ty" and "rolled r".

Please, guys, make her some donations (you can see how do it in the description). I really think some 5 or 10 dollars will not ruin us at all, it is just like a couple of beers, you know what I mean, but this will keep her motivated to provide such gold in the future. I make videos like this myself and I know how embarrassing it is to ask publicly for money, I never do this for myself but I do this for Lilla, because we all know she deserves it. Nothing motivates you better then money, please, do it because I bet you she puts a lot of effort in her videos. If you can't make a donation, at least open her videos and make her generate visualizations and hours in order to get money from the platform, be thankful, put some likes and comments.

Definitely for me "Ráday utca" sounds like ”Radoy utco” and the only way to say it as correctly as I can is to use the "o" instead of "a".
