Yea………they are naturally assholes. They can be “trained” but you can never turn your back on them. Plus a horse having a bad day may just nip or threaten to kick you. A Zebra will turn you into paste. Or as a native African explained to a tourist, “A horse that wants you off his back will just buck you off and run away. A Zebra will buck you off and keep kicking till your dead”. Tourist:😳 Oh. Makes sense.

I'm a donkey attack survivoor. About 20 years ago i had a little hobby farm and took in animals that needed rehab. One of my friends acquired a whole herd of Mammoth donkeys, and the jack (intact male-stallion) was in particularly rough shape. These are the largest breed of donkeys, and he was about the same size as my riding horse, but about 300 lbs underweight. He looked like a skeleton with a dirty hide thrown over- just heartbreaking. Anyway, he was sweet until he started to gain enough weight to feel better, and one day he decided out of the blue to punch my ticket to the express train upstairs! He grabbed me right where my shoulder and neck tied in- thank goodness for wintertine and heavyduty Carharts jackets!- and started shaking me around and trying to fall on me and crush me with his knees like i was a coyote in the videos above! I was down in the dirt, tucked up tight and trying to roll out under the fence when i was saved at the last minute- my good foxtrotter mare saw what was happening from 2 pens over, and came to my rescue! She broke through 2 sets of hot electric fence to rip a chunk out of that jackasses ass- and keep him away until i could get safe. I was banged up, but ok. He parted ways with his testacles the very next day and was much nicer after "brain surgery". My horse was cherished till the end of her days. Best friend i ever had.

I can add one. Domesticated sheep - specifically rams. Their horns are at the same height as femoral arteries and an irritated flick of their head can cause someone to bleed out in 20 minutes. I was a regional Registrar of births, deaths and marriages and while researching a family tree was looking through death records in the 1850's. In this particular country town over that period "gored by ram" was the cause of death in 20% of the deceased...

Wholeheartedly agree with the donkey take. Mom used to raise Shetland sheep for wool and there USED to be a lot of coyotes and foxes around. One day dad came home with two donkeys. Let’s just say that for the first month they were guaranteed to find a minimum of one coyote body in the pasture (sometimes 2-3). The “honey badger horse” got me laughing so hard because it is so true.

Some ranchers are actually starting to get guard donkeys instead of guard dogs for this exact reason. They are extremely territorial and will attack any animal that tries to go into its territory (hence your land) therefore keeping livestock safe, but you have to get them as babies so they can get familiar with your other animals or pets that way they don’t try to hurt them or confuse them as intruders.

Your straight-faced, solemn delivery combined with slang terms instead of scientific ones -- "murder guppy" and "hot pocket for a pride of lions" are just two of many -- turns these wildlife videos into true entertainment that also provides a good deal of serious scientific discussion. Thank you for some of the most watchable videos ever! They are the sort of educational tool that is badly needed to turn kids onto science and give them a solid understanding of the real world that too many schools today, sadly, don't provide their pupils.

We have no murder donkeys, no primates (except arsehole humans). Sure the salt water crocs make a US alligator look like a lizard and outweigh the Nile Crocodile, our wedge tailed eagle (esp the Tasmanian one) makes the Bald eagle look like a sad seagull, and the cassowary has attitude at mating time (who doesn't?) and IMHO anyone silly enough to get into a great white sharks dining room deserves to either be on the menu, or meet a stone fish/jellyfish. They all leave you alone if you treat them with respect, even the snakes and spiders. I've known a horse like that. That day, I learned three very important things. *1:* You cannot MAKE a 1/2-ton animal do anything it doesn't want to do. Encourage it, bribe it, teach it? Sure. But if it doesn't want to do the thing, then it won't~ (he side-stepped while I was brushing his flank, and gently pinned me [no crushing, just stuck] between his hip and the wall) *2:* Horses can have interesting senses of humor. (he waited until I'd braced both feet against the wall to try and push him a couple inches so I could get loose, then abruptly stepped back and let me drop to the floor like a sack of hammers; this was his idea of a joke) *3:* They can and _will_ laugh at you. (a deep, basso chuckle in the chest, and when I snapped at him that that wasn't funny, he started whinnying [cracking up] and tossing his head. Dude damn near ROFLMAO at me) He was still loads better than another horse at that stable; getting assigned him for grooming was a punishment duty. He was a sadist who would bite you, then laugh while you screamed.

To add to donkeys. A man went in a trip through the wilds of California. He had his donkey and was riding his horse. All of a sudden the horse gets spooked and throws the man from the saddle before running off. As he gets up he sees the mountain lion that spooked his horse and thinks, 'this is how I die' His prayers were interrupted however by his donkey who sprinted past the man, into the mountain lion and proceeded to vibe check and murder the cougar with a fury that can only be described as holy and righteous in it's zeal. Even after the mountain lion was dead the donkey would make sure by grabbing it around the neck and hulk smashing it's body to be sure it wouldn't get back up again.

My grandmother had a 'pet' donkey that she let run around her 22 acres of land. It loved people. Enjoyed cuddling. And would do nearly anything you asked for an apple. I never saw any actual violence from it at all aside from the time one of my uncle's drunken friens punched it and it sent him to the hospital. Totally his fault and no one blamed her. So I guess there are outliers in every animal.

One of the fun things with the English language is how many different ways you can find to describe things. This dude takes it to a whole new level. Must have grown up with a dictionary in one hand and a thesaurus in the other.

@@caraculo1077 Basic English, yes. But what separates English is its highly fluid use of slang and idioms, i.e., different ways to convey the same thought. Go listen to someone from inner city Baltimore, New York Italians, the rural south, the northern Midwest, and then Southern California, and a non native speaker might swear none of them are even speaking the same language. That’s what happens when you put all types of cultures from around the world together in one massive country. The language will naturally become highly diverse, due to so many different cultures putting their own spin on the language.

My great uncle owned a donkey, and I helped him out one summer. The thing loved me and him. However if anyone got into it's enclosure without properly introducing themselves to it, they'd get chased out by it, and then it would grab stuff off the wall and throw it at said person. They can be real friendly, so long as you treat them with caution and respect.

Donkeys are extremely intelligent, I've trained donkeys, mules and horses donkeys take the cake when it comes to intelligence and memory something I was working on with the horses would take 40 or 50 repetitions to learn but donkeys would have it after 10 or 20 but when they are done for the day that's it you aren't making any positive progress from that point on ,so you learn to keep training sessions short
