I got an under the door tool, its a old bumperJack with long pieces of steel welded on the lifter. It demolishes any door frame. Or jack up any door enough to bust through. Got idea off of old Cops show🤷🏼

Channel came up while looking for a Traveller's Tool.. First off AWESOME content .. Second, are you truly a Civil Engineer or is it just a moniker.. In my experience, unless you have a relationship with a locksmith when you walk into a shop with a bidding for a key and ask for it to be cut, they will give you a funny look and not cut the key... I do love how this is a low budget method as opposed to just go buy the Southord Tubular Lock impression tools .. Great Vid, love the content ..Keep it up

I found your old video. I still say there are many circumstances where you secondary technique wouldn't work. I engineered a lock box with a push-lock, ACE cylinder on my E-bike. The frame prevents the insertion of a Sparrows type tensioner. We tend to get overconfident in the shop, but real world is often quite different. And by the way, my impression tool wouldn't pick my lock either, so I agree with your original premise.

You'd mentioned when using the decoding block in the video , that you can also use calipers to get the bit coding but never explained or showed how. Could you either quickly explain that process or make another video showing how ? Would you use IN, MM , or IN/ Fractions setting when using Calipers to get the proper bit coding off your impressions tool ? I would imagine you'd use MM while using the Upper inside Jaw...

Could you pick the lock and just impression it with a heated ballpoint pen sleeve and use that to open the lock after the initial picking?

The problem for me is that I have a Harbor Freight US General toolbox that I have the key for and I can't open the lock. Keep in mind that this lock has been locked and unlocked less than a dozen times. I moved the toolbox from the house to the garage. It was locked to move and now I can't unlock it since it has been moved. Harbor Freight couldn't care less. They have my money and now they don't know me. I am not a mechanic by trade and only need the tools occasionally but when I need them I really need them. I bought one of those lock pick kits like you showed at the beginning but it either doesn't work or I don't know what I am doing, probably the latter. Any suggestions? Can I drill it out and replace it with a lock that wasn't made by Fisher-Price? If I do drill it out, will I be able to open the box?

loved the vid, if i didnt have the lock to test the keys on the spot then i definitely would cut 2 keys (as i have done when cutting other keys by code) otherwise id try first the lower cut key and if that didnt work id recut it to the next depth

I encountered the same problem you did. Tried everyway=nothing. The pins WERE moving but I wasn't setting shit, lol. Tried using the Impressioner after picking halfway past 1st set= still didn't work. I plan on trying more later. You can get free Tub locks off elevator doors to practice. Most will have a lock installed where the dropkey goes and can be opened with a tubular key(not sure if these are universal or mine were just the same per institution). Also, since I've never heard you or Dev talk about it- Elevator Boxes are great to acquire shit from. Mech Eng's are logical people so not only will it contain the El's Tubular keys and flat operator keys but they'll usually chuck in a couple of door keys for doors that are nearby or relevant so they don't have to carry them around when they need to access it.

The sparrow is nice, but i cut my own woth a long handle i can palm, and cross with my finger... really helps feel the pins, which dont give goodfeedback prying on the cylinder outside. I remember picking my first laundry machine with a hairpin and a homemade v tensioner. Man did that feel good.

Do you recommend anyone to decode a tubular lock I have? I bought a toolbox from my old highschool teacher a while back. Forgot to ask about keys so I can lock it. Tried replacing them but couldn’t find the style that would relatively work in its place. I can pay for services and shipping.

Tubular locks are so low security if thieves were smart they would use tubular picks on alot of vending machines. Plenty of vending machines have no cameras around them

If your goal is to attack the lock, and not to duplicate a key, once you pick it open, couldnt you impression the correct bitting with the cylinder lock tool, and then just continue to turn that like a key?

The lock picking lawyer says you can manually pick these locks by not going around more than twice, you say different, you are tensioning the lock clockwise and the lawyer anti clock wise, just don't get it, thanks for your video and want to see more, Colin from Surrey uk

The lock which required 9 full rotations you say you picked 42 times with a 7 pin lock, that means there was only 4.6 pins if you picked it 42 times to get 9 full rotations. That’s 42/9=4.6 9x7 would be 63. Or am I missing something? I’m quite new to lockpicking.
