The ash is heavy and will sink to the bottom of your lungs and will stay there forever. Please wear a mask from now on even when you are filming. We can all hear it affecting you. We all appreciate your reports and can cope with you in a mask far batter than hearing the ash affect your throat and lungs. .

Please don’t feel you have to keep going up the hill in the daytime Bear, if it’s safer to stay indoors you can update us from there! We truly appreciate all that you do but we also want you to stay safe and healthy. Yes 🤗 the world is watching (Regina Saskatchewan Canada) I agree with @Ruth, You do not need to go up the hill on the bad air days. You have gained our trust with your FACTS and gentle honesty. Perhaps some small experiments/examples with the ash in/near your home. Many do not understand this 'ash' which does NOT go away with sweeping or water, the destruction it easily has while wiping from fine furniture, computer screens, car paint and windshields. I imagine it is all over your toothbrush and bar of soap in the morning 😶 Kitchen must be cleaned BEFORE starting to prepare a meal. Ugggg.

The hot weather with humidity is creating that "haze" cap that is trapping the ash, hopefully the wind comes through and pushes it out.

Absolutely not safe for children to go back and forth to school. Nobody should be breathing that ash, especially infants, toddlers and all children.

All people next to the Atlantic Ocean need to be on the alert at least or move away for a while. Quite a few people received WARNING dreams and visions that a La Palma mountainside will slide into the ocean - and someone saw it happen quite quickly! May these people here at the volcano area decide to move away for their own safety. (There is 'a scientific warning video' made to show which mountain can be affected like this.) Mary warned at the very beginning of the eruption. She was absolutely right. Look at the conditions now. The ability to start evacuations now is made difficult by the ash everywhere, the airport closure, and the new sea incursion closer to the port.

I guess people are desperate to carry on their lives as normally as possible but there are conditions such as air quality and the earthquakes that are stopping people from sleeping plus the trauma these poor people have suffered losing everything. @@astarrr54 , it's because they have nowhere to go. There are no long-term provisions. For some of these people their place on the island is all they have, not to mention the cost of evacuating, renting a truck and leaving things behind.. all with no certain destination. 🤷

@@nrob450 It also doesn't help that they've waited this long and now planes can't fly to/from the island, and the docks may be closed down as well. If they had took the warnings seriously from the get-go and made plans to evacuate when they should have, they'd be in much better position. But instead, these people were more interested in calling others 'conspiracy theorists' who were trying to warn them to make plans then to evacuate the island. Now, I don't believe this is possible anymore, I think they're stuck there.

I agree with all of the above comments. I applaud the islanders for trying to make the best of a bad situation, but their government should have been evacuating from the start. The people directly below the volcano then everybody going North. That would have meant the people would be safe, assessments could be made, and rebuilding and return after the eruption ended would be possible. These people and animals have been abandoned.

The dust on your tablet, reminded me of the old toy etch a sketch I used to play with years ago. Except that the dark powder was inside the screen!

At least move people 10 km+ away from the volcano and out of the affected valley. The north part of the island seems quite safe.

More great on-the-spot reporting All very to the point. *Especially* "You have to go with the volcano, not against it." A true philosophy for life!

Going AWAY from volcano is more prudent.
