@@haqbaatalimirza2919 I know this is probably satire but touching piranhas (or "insects") is safe in some cases due to hitboxes. Rather than wasting valuable resources checking if Mario is touching a plant exactly every frame, it has a hitbox, which is what the game actually checks for. If Mario touches the hitbox, he dies. If Mario touches the sprite (art for the enemy) but not the hitbox, he lives.

It does indeed look sketchy at first, yes, especially when you compare with a 30+ years old memory of you playing the game. Though instead of imagining the possiblity that it can be real, people instantly go to "CHEATER!!". I just try to open up people's mind a bit on the matter. Some are just trolls, but if I do manage to teach someone something, or maybe change someone's mind if needed, that's always a nice feeling for me. Nonetheless, I just do this for fun after all =).

- plays the entire run with a serious face or a giant smile - fighting to not get a heartattack - casually jumps on top of the bullet bill - ends in 5 minutes and breaks everything on his house - doesn't elaborate further

But remember that this is not the entire game. He only played 8 out of the 32 levels (he used warps to skip world 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7). If you wanna see a complete (while still fast) run , look for Warpless Speedrun

Crazy to think that this run isn't even in the top 20 now. Darbian certainly helped pave the way for speed running this game.

@@coolmonkey5269 the game goes back to the title screen and you can choose worlds by hitting the b button and all the goombas get replaced with buzzy beetles

I completed this when i was 5 back in 1990 while my older brothers were at school. They were five years older than me and I completed before them. They were surprised to say the least. I remember playing on one of those old style televisions with the extra pane of glass in front of the actual tv screen, it had wooden sides too. I cant believe i can still remember doing it

Right to everyone coming here and accusing of hacks because he "passed through a phirannah" or "he was in that goomba" just remember this came out in 1985 and the enemies have bad hit boxes, also all the "it says 4.57 in the timer not 4.56" the timer is manual and not exactly accurate so to get an exact time we count the frames the game was going for and calculate it. If you don't believe me go either watch everyone else's runs of this game, or read up on it before posting a butt hurt comment, cheers

idk man, 0:54 is pretty fuckin weird....if you slo-mo and pause it at a perfect time you can actually get marion standing in the dead center of the goomba...i know the hitboxes are broken in this game but fuck man thats no little edge clip on a creature or something like i get when i play......

Imagine it’s a random tuesday night, you’re streaming getting some runs in, suddenly this becomes serious, and somehow you get the world record

I am quite emotional, you make me to remember my childhood

The 9.2k dislikes are from Badabun's auto dislike bots, specifically targeting Darbian.10k were supposed to be on this but 0.8k of them failed because they were multiplied by 100 and were accidentally put on their own mario 'run'. 123k were from their own fans and us.
