closest thing we have to these are the sirens from the firehouse down the road. I grew up with those, and I'm sure a lot of people who live in the mid-west grew up with tornado sirens. but the tornado sirens sound super scary!!!! just imagine waking up in the middle of the night to that. And I thought hearing the firehouse siren in the middle of the night was scary. lol

My Aunty is based in St Louis after moving out there 25 years ago from the UK, obviously the UK doesn't suffer a tornado season like America so don't have sirens going off during storms. The sirens are the one thing she can't get used to or not be spooked out by. She's always telling me how scarily creepy the sirens are and how they're worse than the actual tornado fear wise. Have a huge passion for tornados and extremely fortune to now have family in St Louis tornado alley to have the cak me to visit during storm season, hopefully a 15 year obsession with these things will finally be seen in the flesh but want to hear sirens go off more than anything else, there's just something about them that makes you want to hear them for real ️xx

If you want to see a tornado you have better chance driving 2-3 hours south on a stormy day! Take 55 straight south to near the bootheel on a high risk day

I love that sound from the sirens. It's creepy but like silent hill I think. I love tornado/thunderstorm and thunder videos. But I've so much respect. Would it happen in Germany, everyone will think "It's the end of the world!" I saw a Thunderstorm with a supercell last year in germany. It was so scary! I looks like aliens come to us and want to eat us. (Yeah, I know, it's stupid to think that) But the sky was dark blue, green and grey. I saw the supercell so good. It was my first supercell I saw in my live and I think perhaps it was the last. It's really unnormal in Germany to see something like that. I really frightened for my live. I have seen the beginning, when it came up to us, the middle and the end. And then everything was back to normal as would be what never was. The trees were directed at a 45 degree angle to the ground! Some people are unfortunently died.. They didn't think it would be so bad. In Germany, there's no such thing actually( I don't saw a funnel, but it was.. yeah..I don't know how to discribe that. ( I can send you a photo, when you want to see it. It was really creepy!) But now I'm not longer afraid of thunder. I hope you guys are okay! : ) (Sorry for the long text.) Awesome video and nice wishes from Germany! : )

I faintly hear the old thunderbolt 1000T that used to be in St peters after the second 2001 winddowns.

I remember that. Where was this? We lived in Affton at the time, now in U City. I just moved here last year too. In the Carolinas we never see anything larger than an F2.

Where are you? I lived in Affton at the time, and I think we just got a lot of wind and rain. Then again we could barely hear the sirens.

Kokonut Freaks Does anyone by your residence own a rotational siren? Sirens in St. Louis are omni-directional, meaning they put out sound in a steady 360° without rotating, so I'm kinda wondering.
