I loved you mentioning Por of Greed! Honestly I'm coming back into yugioh but strictly casual, so I have no problem including old school banned cards. Right now I'm aiming into building some decks that are good to play against each other. Just like a board game. Power level: around Edison format, since I believe that is the sweetspot for complexity and flexibility.

So cool that you are coming back to the game, and I love that you want to approach play as a board game, very unique. Quick question though, you are the second duelist this week to mention Edison in comments, is that a time period style like scapegoat?

@@CasualDuelist Yes. "Edison Format gets its name from the only Shonen Jump Championship (SJC) to take place during this time period, the 75th SJC in Edison, New Jersey which occurred April 24-25, 2010" So players use the banlist and cards available from that day backwards. Since it has been considered a time where diversity was viable and not fully explored. It's gameplay is much faster and synergistic than Scapegoat, butfar less complex and one sided as more modern formats. Matches take a couple of turns before a player takes the win. And resource managment was the key to victory. And... also the nostalgia factor, since I was able to play the game back then. I tried to come back afterwards, but the game was a little bit hostile to new/returning players... I tried my best, but gameplay became heavily search/special summon/shuffle focused... and it wasn't fun anymore... so I dropped it. Until now: I've realized that I'm not interested in grinding turnaments. Nor I'm trying to prove anyone that I'm a better player. I just want to play the game I onced loved, with the cards I enjoyed, and focusing a lot into creating interesting/enjoyable game experiences. Turns out Speed Duels (maybe Rush Duels) it's everything I've ever wanted, but never knew it. Thanks for asking. n_n

Why not go for a danger version of this using wandering king. I would say get a cheap copy of zalamandar catalyzer or 2.

Mostly because I felt this was the best build possible using only 3 copies of the structure deck.
