I actually love to see this car getting some love. I have the 2003 Caldina GT4 with the 3-SGTE engine and can't wait to tidy her up and work on it.

tf that turbo sound at 0:12 sound like a whip, but other than that 3sg's are really cool

I am looking into replacing all four engine mounts as I feel some vibarations at low rpm.After driving for 13 years it is still working good. Next I may also service the turbine and flush the inter-cooler hoping to get a better feel of the turbo boost.

what are the wheel sizes and offset looking at the getting the same set for my car

Would've been good to show how the BOV was recirculated back into the airbox and whether it cased any issues like CEL. There is no obvious solution to replumb as there is a two bolt flange and o-ring holding in the stock bypass valve.

do you have any ideas on what safe mods i could do for my 2005 gt4 turbo ? i have an open pod filter and a hyper ground system. i also have a boost controller fitted. i want a bit. i want a bit more power but it’s also my daily so i don’t wanna do any hectic mods

change the front half of the exhaust and a highflow cat and put the stock air box back on with a K&N filter also do the cooling panel and an alloy radiator they dont like heat

No you can’t install an external wastegate on a stock turbo the turbo already has a wastegate built in, if I were you I would buy a haltech ecu and a flex fuel sensor and wide band o2 sensor all from haltech and a Mac valve electronic boost controller and get the car tuned this will make your car extremely powerful and fast , maybe the fastest in the world as not many people have modified these

Basically the upgraded stuff below as per video shown. 1. Aftermarket Radiator 2. The Panel top of Radiator 3. Blow Off 4. Project MU disc brake (front and rear) 5. Enkei Sport Rim 6. Adjustable Suspension (based on the car height and gap between rim and fender) I have this car as well, 🤗🤗🤗

that's a great car the only reason I say awd is because it doesn't have a hi and low range transfer case , that's how most people differentiate an awd vs 4wd

Most likely an aisin transmission. I don't think they've ever made a bad transmission.

@@TURBOTRISTO a really good Nspec one with low kms is around 8-12knzd jump on Trade Me NZ and have a look.... Mine was very rough in paint work and interior.... But I am a ex panel beater car painter and a professional car groomer so was happy to pay 4k nzd for a 2004 GtFour with 250k on the clock

some people have done a transmission swap in these - presumably from a celica

Truth to be told I’m a great fan of the Toyota’s all my life…. but 3s-gte will never be the engine of choice….I’ve seen these engines get beaten by any an every other brands of engines especially Honda single cams an that’s a disappointment for me, knowing the 3s crank was made for that “Yamaha” the “2-az, 2gr, 2zz” stands a better chance

Mate we're talking about Stock Daily Cars here bro. My Current Daily 2004 Lexus IS300 2JZGE VVTI 3.0L 6 Cylinder make a lousy 157KW of power which I paid 6K for it back in 2015 buddy. I sold it for 10K and bought a Pearl White 2005 Toyota Caldina GT4 with BC Coilovers & 18" White Rims & Recaro Seats for 11K that has less KM 164km compared to my IS300 with 200km not only that the Caldina GT4 Stock makes 195kw it's 2.0L AWD destroys my old Daily Lexus is300 it makes sense the Caldina is the better car and with Petrol Prices going up the 3SGTE 2.0L Engine is the better Daily Car mate even though it might be abit bigger longer since it's a wagon over my old smaller sedan 2JZGE IS300 🤷‍♂️

That car is slow. 260hp stock, but 0-100km/h is likse 7 seconds. 4 speed auto transmission is reason to this.

@@TURBOTRISTO I don't drive manual cars soo my options are the Toyota Chaser JZX100 and Toyota Mark II JZX110 1JZGTE 2.5L Turbo Automatic & Toyota Caldina GT4 & the 2JZGE Lexus IS300 since they're all Automatic same goes to the Toyota Aristo V300 2JZGTE which cost alot!!! 😅. Anyways as a Apprentice Mechanic in Sydney who study at Ultimo Tafe in the City rolling up in a NA Non Turbo IS300 while the other kids have there Turbo Daily Cars really puts me off alot hence why I upgrade to the Turbo 3SGTE Caldina GT4 hence they're not that expensive when compared to the Toyota Mark II & Toyota Aristo Turbo which cost $25000 plus 😕.

@@TURBOTRISTO I like the Honda Accord Euro R CL7 K20A2 VTEC it's good as a comfortable sporty daily car while going to shops & picking the kids up good all round car with Recaro Seats BUT the problem is I can't drive manual car and that car happens to be a Manual 6speed LSD 😅. My father loves his Hondas his got a 2.2L Vtec H22A7 Swapped Honda Civic EK GLI. With Hondata S300 V3 ECU Tuned with Skunk2 Shifter & ASR Rear Subframe Set-Up with Hasport Mounts & 17" Rays Wheels with Slotted Big Disc Upgrade and it's Engineered as well great fun car 😁
