One of the best offenses of any era. I just loved the way the old K-Gun operated. Someone in the comments said the Bills offense was ahead of its time by not huddling but I think a debt of gratitude should go to Sam Wyche as he was doing that kind of stuff with the Bengals a few years before the Bills. In fact, teams would fake injuries so they can give their defense a blow as the Bengals would be relentless with their no huddle.

I agree, Sam Wyche created it but somehow Boomer Esiason and the rest of the offense take too much time for the snap. Or at least is what I saw on TV. The Bills perfection it under Marchibroda and were quite fast. Remember that 1989 playoff vs Browns, LB Matthews make some penalties to relentless the K-Gun.

There's a difference of a no huddle and a hurry up. The Bills were running a play with 25 ...30 seconds left on play clock.

You had Mile High stadium instead of Invesco field. I'm from Atlanta and we had the Ga Dome instead of Mercedes Benz stadium. The NFL and sports in general is all corporate and its just watered down. And like you said the free agency means players don't stay with a franchise long.

@@Ryan-zt2xw I agree. If he has another 1 and done playoff run, then the Rooney's need to make a drastic change at the coaching position. Other fans always scream "He never had a losing season" well he is in jeopardy of a losing playoff record, he is currently 8-8. He is 3-7 in the 2010s, and losing 2 straight HOME playoff games against teams they should've beaten. That falls on the coaching for no discipline, no motivation etc. The Jags in 2017 had no business scoring 45 points at Heinz Field. Same with the Browns who dropped 49 points. The head coach is the main one responsible there.

Buffalo was ahead of their time offensively with the K Gun no huddle offense. It's too bad the Steelers didn't have Lebeau as D.C in 1991, as his zone blitz defense was the perfect counter attack.

Hall of Famer with numerous accolades and I STILL think he’s underrated.

NFL Throwback is really doing a good job with these throwback games on their official channel. I never thought I would compliment something that is an official part of the current NFL's organization.

When I watch these older games I'm always reminded that these players used to wear actual jerseys compared to the players today who wear, what I could only describe as tank tops

The K Gun no huddle offense operating at its peak. The combination of Jim Kelly to James Lofton and to Andre Reed was virtually unstoppable. Add the dual threat of Thurman Thomas almost unfair.

It's crazy the speed that they could generate on that AstroTurf back then. There's no fast tracks in the league today but also less ACL injuries.

I was at this game. Freshman year at Syracuse. My Roommate's brother worked for The Bills & invited us. Jim Kelly said he ran out of plays.

Been a Steeler fan for DECADES. My favorite team NOT Steelers? Bills from 90-93. Marv Levy.... favorite coach of all time HOF players everywhere for the Bills. The Bills were so much fun back then. I agree with Darryl Talley... one of the greatest teams ever to play the game, despite somehow not winning a Super Bowl Note that if the refs didn't blow the fumble call, it's a really close game here!
