So when you rev it up two things happen. You spin up your turbine wheel to say 100,000 rpm and you introduce heat into the turbo housing. Now you shut your engine off. Immediately stopping oil flow to the turbo. So you have the heat, the racing turbine, and no oil. Get it? It's always a good practice to idle any turbo motor for 30 seconds before shutdown to allow things to spin down and cool off.
