Despite growing up without a father, Pol receives an abundance of love and affection from his mother, Mary. In return, little Pol does anything to augment their family's income. Soon, he discovers Mary's lies about his father, but this only strengthens the relationship of the two. Now a criminology graduate, Pol lands a job as a bodyguard to a top defense executive, Secretary Guillermo. When the director obtains a ledger of illegal transactions that would incriminate government officials, Pol witnesses how his boss was ambushed in broad daylight. Pol goes into hiding as the real mastermind of the murder pins the blame on him, resorting to don a disguise to carry out his vow--protect Secretary Guillermo’s daughter, Trina, at all costs. In his desire to get close to Trina, Pol poses as her half-sister, Paloma.
