Well stated completely agree. I was born in 1987, but I honestly wish I was a teenager and had social memorable experiences from this past time frame. I haven't researched this song, but is it supposed to be the 1980's? The music video makes me cry because it touches my emotions. That is how you know you have a good fuckin' song on your hands (or in your ears)

I like to think this song/video isn't about anything dark. I feel shes just simply grown tired and decided to move somewhere new, hence the luggage you see she carries and the face of optimism and determination she has in the end. She wouldn't need luggage if she was going to heaven and her expression would be more of relief than determination as if to say "I made it to Tokyo im gonna have a new start here". Theres always a second chance and always room for a fresh start. Stay positive and happy! Love the track

Is crazy how music can touch ur inner feelings and get u nostalgic,thinking about how things were and how they are gona be,when you finally take a look back and say its time to move on.

This song reminds me of a younger me, wandering in Japan, seeing the beautiful and romantic lights and people at night - a bittersweet and nostalgic feeling because you wish you could go back to that point and youth in time! Thank you 3LAU - very beautiful song.

haha wtf... my sound card had a problem and there was a very harsh sound all the time which i first thought was a bit annoying but after a short while i considered it being some sort of a beautiful stylistic device... Would've been awesome actually... but it's still a great track and the feelings will always stay in my mind... :)

The song is from the girlfriend’s point of view. The music video is about her picturing the life she would leave behind, only to come to the conclusion that the people who she thought could not live without her would be just fine and her departure would not change the way they do things. Regretfully, let her boyfriend go and the whole song is about her asking him to allow her to reconsider her decision!
