It's a rollercoaster track like that section that displays the skill of the engineers to control a constantly changing weight center and slack adjustment , not to mention the very high stress on knuckles and drawbars . A tip of the hat to the dispatchers who have the unenviable task of organizing all that traffic and making it work efficiently

Yea, this line is challenging. I have heard crews complaining about dispatchers unfamiliar with the topography of the line holding their trains at grades, and then they had trouble getting it rolling again.
This blew my mind! Several videos ago, I thought I saw a 3 axel tank car. After trying to find that video, I stumbled across this one from July of 16. My mind is now blown! Three large, *look like double wall), tanks with three axel Bogies! I can tell my friends that I am not losing my mind, (yet). MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A BLESSED NEW YEAR!

Q667, I think that's now my new favorite CSX Manifest Designation
Another great video. Before seeing some of your video's I never knew train had to go up and down hills, always thought they were straight shots in.

It is a very interesting landscape here. The grades may look a bit too impressive in these long views, but for many trains they truly represent a real challenge.
Q619-15 is a long train great video

Could be! I should know it, but have forgotten it. Would need to check old vids.
Beautiful light in the closing shot! How many trains are there along there in a day? There does seem pretty heavy traffic for a single track.
@mbmars01
8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It depends on where you are and what day of the week, but on average there are about 15-20 trains a day. The compilations might lead to the impression of heavy traffic. I certainly do not show the missing action in the dull hours in the videos lol.
Good cloud build-up, and then the rain. Nice sun shot in the other video too. Interesting about the big tankers. Are there turning issues on some routes?
@mbmars01
8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Good question! We have no narrow curves and therefore I think there are no issues at least on this line.
well I would say it would be a long shot the grades that seem to be common to Georgia up one side hill and down another
good video whats the longest train you seen on that rout and how many locos was on it ?
@mbmars01
8 жыл бұрын
The longest train? Maybe 200 cars. The one with the most engines, 13, was in Chattanooga, but at least 6 of them were delivered or transferred and thus were not powered. The video is on my channel.
Thanks great job I appreciate your work. Great pictures of the clouds thanks for putting them in. I liked 5237 going up the hill you could tell it was working hard. Did you get rained on?. Take care.

Thanks! Yeah, I got wet lol! But it was actually a great look: The rain curtain in front of the sun. I call this cloud the "Harper Cloud" because it happened more than once to me that there was a single rain cloud above the siding, surrounded by blue skies.

michael eaton Sure, thanks!
the first csx train had an et44ac cool I saw one once It was cool
The train numbers, like -14 and -15, I presume refer to the date they started their journey? So Q619-15 will have started its journey on the 15th?
@mbmars01

Yes, that's correct.
I have spent a lot of time looking for certain TANK cars, I have not seen localy, The ones I have looked for, are the tanks so heavy, they needed 3 axle trucks and you have several in this video. The other are, Amazon simitrailers, riding "piggy-back". Saw one, on video, of NS trains in Spencer, NC. Still looking for that one. Thanks. 5/17/19

Q667-16's horn that's what I call a Marietta Horn
@StonewallTitlow
8 жыл бұрын
If you want to know what I mean, search CSX Freight in Marietta
so, if the southbound CSX Manifest is approaching the northend of the SE Howie Siding, that means you are on the southend of the siding, right?
@mbmars01
8 жыл бұрын
In my annotations, SE stands for south end and NE for north end. A southbound approaches the north end first and then leaves the siding at the south end.
