lets say I have a a general shape (initial or mother shape) at what time would I need to incorporate your steps to end up with a similar structure?

you can use insert a geometry component selecting the initial geometry, and add populate geometry with it and follow the rest of the definition from 0:52.

how can i cap the open ends and make it as solid structure. Please help me.

Use the grasshopper component Cap Holes turn a open geometry into a closed one.

After some testing, it worked for me by replacing the "LEN" (length of a line) by "LNG" (length of a list)
