Can I just say that I have paid for 3D school and your explanation has been resoundingly clear and simplified, in a way I never experienced in college. Especially in this video discussing quite complex topics of UV mapping and channels, etc. I remember being so overhwelmed back then but you really make sense of these things by introducing each element one at a time.

Thanks, you helped me to understand why texturing in procreate does makes some sense. I’ve started couple a weeks ago from procreate, but now i’m deep in the learning about nomad. Your videos are helping a lot.

This is extremely useful! I'm making a 3d sculpt that's meant to be an old church statue. I'm not yet at the coloring, but I've been using Procreate for coloring other models, but didn't want the "plastic-y" semi reflective look that my sculpts would get. This helped so much in understanding how the texture map things work and now I feel like my sculpt will really get the old stone statue look I'm after! Thank you!

When I started learning Nomad Sculpt, I always skipped tutorials that has "Procreate" in it, because I don't own an iPad... I didn't think it would be that important for me now, lol... Now I wish I had an iPad to make my life easier :D Using material library is cool, but... now it seems to me that hand painting is cooler... It feels more artistic than procedural texturing.

So did you pull this into blender to further edit the topology? Can you go into more detail as to what we need to do to make things more production-ready? Thank you. This video is truly helpful!

Do you think procreate can replace substance? can you export the texture painting if you did your modelling/sculpting and retopo in something like blender first then used Procreate to paint for game assets?

Love your tutorials! The PBR - UV is not available in latest version of nomad, is it replaced with “lit PBR”. The Lit PBR doesn’t provide the checker UV, how do I get the UV checker in latest version?

Hello! I'm actually having an issue with this. Nomad no longer has the same UV unwrap option, but a UVAtlas unwrap option. I used this instead and followed along with everything else in the video, and it transferred to Procreate fine. But procreate won't let me paint at all. I make sure I'm on the "colour" box and everything, but it just won't colour. Could you help?

Is there any apps for Android that can do the same as procreate?

Erika, I have a "stupid question." I am a Nomad Sculpt novice, and I *love* the UNDO button and the history menu. It helps me try new things and of course erase mistakes. But I just noticed that the history is gone and the undo is back to zero on the files I have been saving. Is there a way to keep the old history when I open up an old file?

The history will be lost after closing the app or project. Your best bet is to use Layers. It lets you store sculpt modifications which you can turn on and off indestructibility

ArmourPaint, but last time I tried it, it was very unstable. The best I can recommend it to paint in Nomad and transfer the paint to UVs. You can find a video in my channel with the process

I only know of Armor Paint but when I tried it, it was not very stable. It's been a few months now it might have had an update. Alternatively now you can paint in Nomad and transfer the vertex paint into UVs via Bakes

Help plzzz! My edge protectors look great in Nomad but when I move to Procreate you can see round edges where all the rectangles come together. Anyone know why that would happen??

Life update: I went back and did a voxel remesh on the corner protectors then decimated, uv mapped and exported. That solved the first problem but now the corners look all chunky and bad instead of square and nice. It still looked good in Nomad, but I went back and remeshed again, keeping higher resolution this time. I also pinched the corners a lot to see if that would help, but still no fix… it kinda makes it look antiqued so I’m just rolling with it but I also would love to understand what went wrong so I can do it better in the future

Its super weird, I tried doing this exactlly the way you do it unwrapped the atlas and import the obj, but it doenst let me paint it... i really tried everything, all the normal 3d models brought by procreate work but this doesnt :/

Yes, I it will export the diffused map, roughtness and metallic which you can plug into materials!

Nomad only does vertex paint. Without a PC or iPad the only software I know for texturing is ArmourPaint, but the mobile version I've tested is very unstable.

At the moment, the only other iPad texturing software I know of is ArmorPaint but last time I tested it, it was very unstable. Nomad's developer has revealed that new update will allow to transfer vertex paint into uv maps. This means that soon that alternative will be Nomad itself.

Is procreate only available on ios? I only have an android phone

I'm afraid it's only for iOs. AmourPaint recently released an Android version. This tool is much more sophisticated than Procreate but it's in early stages so it's not very stable on mobiles

Eu pretendia comentar em Inglês, mas com certeza eu não iria saber me expressar direito com meu Inglês do Duolingo ksksks (Risos). :] É sobre como eu faço para transformar dois objetos modelados no Nomad Sculpt em 1. Pois, quando seleciono a opção: (Simple Merge) para unir os dois objetos, e depois uso o: (Smooth) para aliviar onde os dois objetos se colidem, acaba que eu não consigo mexer, sem que um dos objetos saiam do local. É como se ainda estivessem separados, e por causa disso eu não consigo fazer uma junção perfeita. :( Me ajuda por favor! E me desculpa se eu não soube me explicar direito. :>

Hey! :D There are two ways to merge objects. Simple Merge puts all the geometries together as one item in the list, but the surfaces are still independent. If you wanted to actually become one object, instead choose Voxel Merge. This will recalculate the topology and give you a mix of both objects. You'll find a video about this tool in the channel if you want to learn more. I hope this helps!
