was the silicone gasket needed ? it looks like the mold was so tight that there was no bleed from the cast ?.

talking about reducing seams and learning from previous molds: this could be a one-piece cut-up mold! since you already have the matrix shells it would be easy to try. if it helps - i made a two-part video about manual and printed matrix molds

I use the matrix mold process for most of my figures. Have you done a video on how you 3d print the mother molds? Trying to process it in my head but 1st side soft mold negative space is clay is what determines what my first side mother molds shape will be. So, how do you…? I’m honestly looking at your video in probably much the same way a rube looks at a bar puzzle.

If you don't mind, may I ask some questions as it relates to silicone molds and casts. I want to work with where the silicone is the final product, like making squishy bunnies or fish for decorations. I'm new to silicone molds and casting, let alone being able to make molds and casts, although, I just have so many ideas I have in mind I want to experiment and possibly make for myself and some friends of mine. I haven't seen much when it relates to silicone being the final product, I especially want to make more intricate sculptures or maybe even like some kind of silicone decals. I hope we can get into contact to possibly talk about this!

AxoBun, I recommend you trying RTV flexible urethane instead of silicone. It starts with 10A shore like gummy bear soft and goes up to 40,50,70,80,90 Join our facebook group I can guide you on the process. facebook.com/groups/moldmakingandcasting Im available to answer questions.

the professional approach would be tranparent platinum cure silicone, tinted and airbrushed with designated pigments. you can buy a fixed hardness or set it with deadener additives. you can work with stiff or flexible molds - but they need to be chemically inert. it can come with quite a price-tag. especially if your just starting and only order small amounts. its the go to material for hyperrealistic prop making, incredibly versatile and long lasting
