Absolutely love this! What a fantastic idea! I had so much Technic lego when I was a kid. I started out with the 851 Tractor, which was a hand me down. I loved your large version of that! I could probably still build it with my eyes shut, I rebuilt it so many times! I started 3D printing earlier this year too, and am loving it. I also just last week bought the CAT dozer 42131, my first Technic set in about 25-30 years! Having a ball building that! I was partly inspired by watching your videos. You're never too old for Technic lego, and 3D printing is just amazing. Keep up the great work and original ideas! :)

Thanks 🙏 you’re certainly never too old for Lego! I’m sure I’ve got a technic kit with ages 8 - 99 written on it somewhere 😄

What a great idea. I was thinking for the stand alone clock you could print out a horizontal saw toothed rack section and then stand the cog onto that rather than the yellow back mount. Keep it looking more technic based.

I'm surprised Lego never made a clock like this years ago, especially given how they used to make Lego-compatible clocks in the 90s and early 2000s.

This is so cool, I'm gonna make one for sure! For the hole where you made the pillar. Add just on thin layer which covers the hole so you'll have support for the round shape. So just make a a thin piece in the model of like .2mm which would mean it prints just one layer at that point.

Great job Matt and a great idea for a lego room . Even if the hands were a tad heavy what ever time lost there might be when the hands were going up the extra weight of the hands going down would take the strain off and possibly speed up making the clock accurate , but maybe i am wrong .

I wish I still had my 3d printer. I had an anycubic i3 mega around when it came out, it broke down within 100 hours of use but it would have been too expensive for me to repair so I never did and eventually just got rid of it since it was taking up storage space. If I had just waited like, 2 more years, I'd be willing to not only fix it *but have the parts actually available* and I could make all these cool things.

That is a shame! There are many low cost printers available now, however, it’s sometimes hit and miss as to how long they last 😬

It looks great. It looks best unadorned. Having gear baubles on ruins the scale to my eye. That being said it looks best with normal scale technic arms for hands.

Man, that is awesome. Love it. The quality of the giant brick looks great in video. How is it in real though? I guess precision is not the same as original brick but the plastic you use is something like ABS ? Is it the same strong material ?
