    Given what I can see in the video, I can give you an estimate: @ 0:03 looks lke a 2:1 ratio on the big to small gear, 40 teeth on the large gear, 20 on the smaller. @6:17 same gear ratio (2:1) with 20 teeth on large gear, 10 on small. Assuming same gear ratio on all gears, 10 gears, so output gear should be spinning at 2^9 of input. @ 5:22 begins rotation, ends 1/2 rotation @ 5:32, so approx 3 rpm, or .05 rps input. .05 x 2^9 = 25.6 rps, or approx 1,536 rpm.

    00:05 That raft removal is extremely satisfying. I don't use rafts often but if mine came off that smooth I might. I'm more of a brim guy. Edit: A video on raft tips could be cool I would use them more if I could dial them in like that but I tend to use other options due to not wanting to deal with the drawbacks.

    I can't quite tell how hard it is to rotate from the video but I'm curious to see how much voltage it can generate if you attach it to a generator (assuming you would be able to rotate it with the extra resistance force)

  • @sharadkumarsingh4802

    @sharadkumarsingh4802

    Lol it already is very difficult to rotate it without any load attached to the last gear, once you add a load to the last gear, it would become almost impossible to rotate it without breaking the axle or gears

  • @schwuzi

    @schwuzi

    The output voltage would be dependent on the generator. Either way it doesn't matter, as the generator can only put out as much power as is put in at the crank handle. With this much friction in the gearbox and efficiency losses in the generator, you would probably lose over 50% of the energy you put in.

    It is a known problem with 3D printing gearboxes, if you turn the handle fast, the screws in the gears can fly off and possibly hit you in the eye and cause you to lose your eyesight, which would result in the loss of your entire life, and also there would be no more 3D printers." The quest owner decides to take up the quest again, but with much more care. The quest reads "3D Printer Gearbox - Mega Torque Handle Speed Test - Part 1 - Gearboxes and Gears - The Gremlin is back." The quest owner decides to try a different approach. The quest reads "3D Printer Gearbox - Mega Torque Handle Speed Test - Part 2 - Gearboxes and Gears - The Gremlin is back - 2nd Gearbox and 3rd Gearboxes." Again, a thoughtful response comes from the wizard. "Dear Quest owner, Thank you for sending in the parts for me to work on. It has been fun working on the gearbox again, and I am sure your son's eyes will be back to normal. I look forward to seeing the completed product. Best wishes, Wizard". The quest owner decides to try again, this time with some more caution. The quest reads "3D Printer Gearbox - Mega Torque Handle Speed Test - Part 3 - Gearboxes and Gears - The Gremlin is back - Final Gearbox and 4th Gearboxes." A second thoughtful response from the wizard: "Dear Quest owner, I've been busy, but I have some of the parts I need to complete your son's gearbox, which I have kept safely at home. Here are some screenshots of my 3D printer so you can see the size of the pieces I am working on. See you soon! Your Wizard". This is my interpretation of what might have happened in our 3D printing system when I first received the 3D printer for my son.

    You can get little carbide endmills bits from china that are extremely hard but brittle. They're used for cnc cutting circuit boards. They are much harder than the hardened steel but again they're very brittle. The trick to using them is spin them as fast as possible and move them into the material as slow and gently as possible. I like to hang something on the drill press handle so it has a gentle constant downward pressure and then I just let run on its own.
