    Not sure what type of polymer was used... Can’t be that rigid and expect not to break. I imagine something with an Impact Modifier additive is required for longer term use. TPU is normally used which is why it sinks in water. Your Shore D Durometer discs are the more rigid types while Shore A Durometer discs have so flex or texture to them.. Regardless pretty cool seeing the 3D concept!

    It looks like and sounds to me like the odd swirly looking drivers are made of ABS (a super stiff more slick 3d printed material) and the blue ones are made of a PLA or PETg material (a cheaper yet maybe more grippy and just maybe a little less stiff.) I could be wrong though they both could both be a PLA or a different plastic. A disc made of TPU (a much more bendable plastic) would work extremely well however would cost about $55 for 2 maybe 3 discs compared to the 12 -13 discs you could make with PLA for the same price.

  • @3dguys518
    @3dguys5184 жыл бұрын

    Reach out if you want me to design and print you a "Starter set" with driver, mid and putter. I'd do a softer material than what you have here. All of these discs are likely made of PLA which is hard and brittle, hence the shattering. I designed and printed a putter recently, even got it max weight. Flies decently, maybe 3 2 0 2 or so.

    I mean, this probably is the future. Once tech catches up I bet disc golfers all over will be printing their own. Can't believe I haven't thought of this. I have a conventional 3d printer but have you seen resin printers? These discs might actually be resin printed already but if not, it'd probably be superior. Someone leak the 3d models for all the top real discs, thanks.

    Austin Minnocci I understand that! I’ve tried my hand at it but as you can attest it’s a difficult process! If you ever do decide to share them please hit me up! I’ve got some flexible filament on the way and I think it would be a possible solution to the shatter problem! My printer is the Crane Quad.. so I’ve thought about trying blends of flexible with other filaments to see how they pair together. Congrats on some great designs!
