Kelly, I did this in green and I put three red beads grouped together in a triangle shape equally spaced on one side. It made a wonderful Christmas wreath. I used 11"s for the three red and delicas and 15"s for the green. You make it so easy to follow you . I always learn something new from you. Thank you!

I wish I had seen and learned this method instead of spending six hours of the line twisting and turning over, backing mistakes out until the line until it was so frayed I had to cut it off and start over. I just couldn't get it right. But with this I could have. Anyone who has not yet learned peyote should learn it right here.

Hello Kelly, I am working on this circle because I have a triangle so far...then I thought I needed a bigger circle because I need it to go around the triangle. So far so good, but when adding the second side of delicas my circle has gone wonky and very tight. I am hoping that maybe I need to add another row or two of 15 because the circle is so big? I'm trying to make the AA symbol because I celebrated my 25th sober birthday....hope you can help.

Gotta use ALL Miyuki's. The 15/0's, the Delicas and the 11/0's - ALL Miyuki. Oh, and a pair of beading glasses 'cuz I kept messing up on those tiny 15/0's! Easy to skip a bead when peyoting the 11/0's into them.

Delica seed beads come in 8, 10, 11 and 15. The most commonly used is 11, which I believe is what this pattern calls for. Maybe you were using size 15 delica's? I don't have any of those but maybe that is what's throwing off your circle?

Why does the pattern work across for each sides? Couldnt it be made with adding the second delica on the same side then go across the other side, do the same after cross over repeat then finish?

  • @offthebeadedpath

The reason you work from side to side is to keep even tension throughout the piece. This gives a consist and firm ring. If you do one side and work to the other you won't have the same tension and your piece can end up floppier and not as stiff.

Bead a relatively loose circle when completing the 15/0's so there's room when adding in the Delica's. And make sure ALL your beads are Miyuki, no Toho or other Japanese bead.
