[3D Binaural Audio] Ferrari Corse Clienti Monza 2021: FXX, 458 GTE, F138 F1, 488 GT Modificata

Given the length, maybe I should have uploaded this video directly on Netflix's movie library.. Jokes aside, you know you're not forced to watch the entire video especially when it comes to binaural audio ones, all of which are mainly to listen to. For this video I decided to mix together the binaural recordings I did during two different events from last month: the XX Programmes & F1 Clienti track day and the Club Competizioni GT test day a couple of weeks later (that's why there's more 'green' on trees and paths in scenes with the various GT race cars).
There's not much to say about the first event with the typical XX beasts, with some FXX, 599XX and FXX K Evos attending the day, which shared the track (alternating the sessions) with just two F1 cars from F1 Clienti programme. There were only a Ferrari F2008 and a F138 from 2013, but it was still better than nothing. Regarding the second event, this is a freshly created club for owners of old Ferrari GT race cars, such as 360 N-GT, F430 GT3 or GTC, 458 GT3 or GTE, 550/575 GT1 and many others. For Monza there were a couple of 458 GT3s, a F430 Scuderia GT3, a new 488 GT Modificata (which is a 488 GT3 Evo 2020 in every way but without any GT3-class BoP, so its engine has no restrictions and the 488 doesn't have any extra weight) and a 458 GTE. You can't understand how much I missed hearing this car around Monza..

-- What the hell is a 3D/Binaural recording? --
Binaural recordings are reproductions of sound the way human ears hear it. Traditionally, recordings have been made using mono or stereo. Mono uses a single microphone while stereo uses two, spaced apart from each other. Binaural recording takes the stereo method one step further by placing two microphones approximately at the same average distance that exists between one and the other human ear.
To recreate the best effect you must put the microphones in your ears or by using a "dummy head" (wherein a mannequin head is outfitted with a microphone in each ear) because having a real head or a head shape that separates the two microphones is what makes the magic works. In fact if a car passes on your left side the sound will take a few extra microseconds to reach the right ear and it will also be louder in one ear (left) than the other. This is caused by the fact we have a thick skull and spongy brain between the two ears and sound waves interact with the physical constitution of the listener and the surrounding space. Instead of following the cars like I'm used to do with my 'standard', stereo videos, keeping the microphone static (and so the camera) the surround and depth effect typical of the binaural recordings is enanched.

I remember I was at a karting race a few years ago I was going around the track and heard this crazy noise and when I pulled into the pits after the race I realized there was a Corse Clienti event happening and the noises were FXXK's and 599XX EVO's. I couldn't believe how loud they were!

@@kutlachakela the main problems isn't the production cost making (they are all in supercars). The main difficult is to make them respect new emissions lawsuit.
God would pardon me to say this is almost a perfect thing. Old 458 sound F1 599XX, FXX FXXK evo which sounds like a group of lions itself and all that in binaural high quality-inmmersive experience audio... I want to cry of happiness! THANK YOU BOZZY, THANK YOU!!!

That's the GTE version made for the ACO sports car racing regulations. The 458 GTE raced in IMSA, WEC, ELMS, Asian LMS and Le Mans 24 Hours. I have seen this car every year at Le Mans from 2011 to 2016. It was so loud yet sounded so good!

@@04boogie-t14 Yes same car. The GTE class was introduced in 2011 and replaced the older GT2 class. The 458 GT2 or GTE was developed in 2010 so it was intended for the GT2 ACO rules before they changed the name GT2 for GTE.

F1 really needs to give us some cars people will love listening too. I hear these two and get a shiver down my spine from the awesome sound alone, I listen to the current cars and do nothing but shake my head in disappointment :(
So interesting how engines can make such uniquely different sounds. I can only imagine the feeling and the sound of being behind the wheel of one of these marvels.

These are binaural recordings (probably made with a dummy head), which leads to full 360° positional audio when using headphones. This does not work on 1, 2, 5.1 or even 10 speakers.
