While I did enjoy the show, if they wanted to show some of the battle at the Air Temple then they should just have had Sokka find traces of the fight and interpret them. Simultaneously giving an eerie look into that day and giving us a demonstration of Sokka's tracking and deduction skills. Something to the tune of... Sokka: Sees scorch marks on a wall by the mouth of a passage with some scraps of burned cloth and bones next to it Flashback: Airbender getting roasted while holding the passage against the Fire nation soldiers Sokka: Follows the scuffed floor to a raised stone walkway. Flashback: A cohort of Fire Soldiers advancing down the passage Sokka: Finds that there are gouges in the railing of the walkway. Peering over he sees the overgrown shapes of rusted armour in the wreck of an old garden Flashback: Some Airbenders driving them over the railing. Close up shot of some of their armour hooking and digging in as they go over.
