$395,000 IMPECCABLE MOTORSAILER!! Bruckman 50 - EP86
Just when you thought the Puffin 42 was the dreamboat and the final selection for the Captain, we stumbled across a 2001 Bruckmann 50 Motorsailor for sale for $395,000
Now, she's a little more pricey than our usual target range, but considering the comfort and space of this world-cruising liveaboard, you could easily sell the condo and head out for some serious adventure. In particular, the main cabin has a den, and multiple levels of living (not unlike the Puffiin), and has been meticulously maintained by the current owner (and his two dogs and friendly kitty).

Great video. Thank you! Your videos are the best part of my life. My wife has dementia and wrapping up my life with her before she goes into .... the appropriate living area. We both have worked 50 - 60+ hours a week and it just stinks that she has this illness. I'm hoping when I get to 60 I can focus on sailing 100% of the time. Bottom line I live through your videos... keep up the great work!

I absolutely adore motor sailors and this one was definitely no exception. What a beautiful vessel so well laid out for myself it would be perfect but alas it is well out of price range. Here's to hoping I get to see her again in my dreams tonight. Thanks Gents for showing the old girl to us she really is something...
I hope you left the bottle of wine as a courtesy for the owner for letting you tour his boat. This boat is definitely worth it. If I were to buy it I would have to hire Capt Q to bring her home to the Great lakes. Got my lottery tickets in hand.

Beautiful boat. Seems like an ideal looper boat. I didn't check the specs on draft but I hope it is not over 6'. I like the prop in the skeg aperture especially for the river portion of the loop. Washer dryer gets points from me!! Especially on long trips. Nothing beats doing laundry while motoring along in the ditch when nothing else is going on.

Mark Ellis sure knows how make life on the water easy and appealing! Somehow he manages to mix the old aesthetics with modern design and a turn of speed in a really nice package; I find this boat much more appealing than most motor sailers. I think I might like to make her my permanent address.

I see this as an older couple home and by that I mean retired couples tend to be less glued at the hip and it's nice to have personal space on a boat, ergo the den and the pocket door berth. I think your rating on this boat is the highest I have seen. Love the name Raz M Tazz. If I could afford her I would keep her name. Does it have a bow thruster too? She is a beautiful vessel. Not sure if you want to be a power boater or a sailor. This is the best of both worlds. Just love her. Captn Q and Randy you work so well together and your research and your love for boats spread like wildfire. Keep up the great work.

i don't think she has a thruster but you don't really need one Real sailors don't need them ...lol originally and happily designed for power boaters who have all that windage and no counter balancing keels

Great boat. Best interior in any mid size sailing yacht. Excellent fuel economy. However, they came out in 2001, not 1981 as shown in the final credits. A smaller and somewhat more affordable version is the Cabo Rico Northeast 400, which also draws less than the gargantuan (for a 50 ft motorsailer) 6 feet.

@@YachtHunters Yes.🇬🇧.. Or Dutch, German or possibly French .... but yes big tidal ranges, shifting sand banks and miles of mudflats, estuaries and old stony tidal harbours ...😉 Also very useful if you have to do maintainance or repairs off grid and you cannot or dont want to pay small fortunes getting lifted out. Young Capt jacks folks boat Melody has a triple keel with a lifting center board for into the wind deep water sailing. As did wildings sailing's first boat ⛵ but that was so short and heavy it was like sailing a gravy boat. Im told with good modern design bilge keels makes a lot of sense and sail very well and safely in difficult seas especially with beamy boats getting leaned over.... same reason they tend to go for double rudders on modern performance yatch's.
I agree with 45. She appears to be more sail than motor to a very certain degree. Cabin lines are lower than most motorsailors. No doubt some compensation in head room below. It can be hard for designers to make that work as well on boats such as these under 50' Being a motor sailor though you should have really recited her engine hours. She is GORGEOUS!

It's funny, right? At a certain size & design- everything just works. I mean the powered winches (50's if memory serves), the raised pilothouse, handholds everywhere, headroom everywhere & substance. That yacht has substance. I didn't even question the hull- just all meat, no fluff. Even those big Beneteaus & Jeanneaus lack the 'feel' of that Bruckman. Stormy weather, put in a couple of reefs, make a coffee & let it storm, right? No worries. I would NEVER, EVER consider a motorsailor, but- I TOO genuinely enjoyed this one!
