37000 RPM Gear Train

I built a gear train using plastic bricks with a gear ratio of 1:625. As a result, if you rotate the lever in one second, it will reach a rotational speed of 37,000 RPM. The final section of the video illustrates this concept, but my plastic bricks are too weak to spin the lever without breaking. Therefore, I accelerated the last section to represent it conceptually.

I like how you compared the speed to other things like a car or a jet engine

wouldnt a flywheel be helpful in increasing the speed?

If a 3rd party motor is added to the system, how much further could you take this?

@@JamesTDG That's a great question. As we add more gears, the lever becomes harder to move, and the small LEGO motors likely won't be able to handle it. However, I can use my powerful drill to test the system's limits. While the system may break, it is worth exploring

@@fmscientia its not a question of 'it may breake' .. its guaranteed to fail... ..as u metion a very well balanced system as a car engine will not handle 7500+ rpm well for long periods... ...but its a greate way of learning... keep experimenting... just remeber sefety of urself and others.. a tip: use bearings with small radius and small balls that r rated for high speeds (SKF Sweden does excellent bearings)... just remeber at high speed an exploading bearing has a kinetik energy thats is very very large... be safe...
