$3700 Dollar Grocery Haul | Pantry, Freezer and Household Stock Up

Every fall we stock up the pantry, freezer and household to prepare for the winters in central New York. We live in a small village that has one grocery store that is way over priced. In addition, we live 1 1/2 hours away from the newest Costco, making it impractical to travel that kind of distance on icy roads or during a winter storm. Having our pantry stocked up really helps our large family save time and money as we cook most me. Thanks for spending this time with us. Hugs Shelby

What some people failed to realize is that the bulk shopping here is based on the Fall, Winter, and Spring months. A lot of this will be place in the pantry and storage. In addition, she has a large family. They live out in the country and all of this makes sense.

I use to baby sit for a nurse 15 years ago and she was showing where everything was and she is like if you see im runing low on anything let me know so i can replace it and i said but why do you buy 20 or 30 shampoos or mouth wash and you know different things and she said because thats months that you can go and not have to worry about buying that or spending that money so thats money you and family can save to go on vacations and dinners and trips and stuff and man that is smart.

I’m exhausted watching her list all the food knowing she still has to make her marinades and complete her food storage process. On top of that, it seems like she has an extensive palate when it comes to types of foods that she enjoys just by all the different varieties. That alone tells me she cooks often and probably complex meals ( at least to the average joe). In all, I think this lady MUST enjoy cooking and possibly this yearly adventure to continue on doing this and then take the time to film it all. I’m exhausted but I’m excited for her lol.

Sometimes you have you to be creative to have a pantry. It may not be pretty...but there is space you may not be thinking of. Under all your furniture you can put stuff. Canned goods...get case boxes at stores to start stacking. You can put your stuff like shoes on top of the canned goods. Again not pretty...but just do a little at a time.

We have a pantry and use it as a storage closet for coats and winter gear. We fill the fridge/freezer with meat, eggs, vegetables, condiments and fruits. I hate spending money on flavored drinks and tons of boxed foods. We’re lucky to live closer to stores though. This video helped me consider buying cleaning products once a year though! 😆

Our house didn’t come with a pantry. It’s a small house - (one bathroom and the washer and dryer are in the kitchen). We use the coat closet closest to the kitchen as a pantry, and we store extra toilet paper, paper towels, and napkins in our sons’ bedroom closet. They share a room and single closet.

Our seven children are all out of the house now, but I have such good memories of going shopping together. We had a 15 passenger van named “The big green booger” and we filled that thing up. Everybody helped carry in groceries and put them away. My oldest daughter helped me build our utility room shelves. Those were happy days....

I've never been much of a shopper, but with this lockdown in my Country where we are unable to leave our homes except to shop quickly, I was able to run in with a list of groceries and run out again! Not ideal, but it helped! And I've learned to make bread and I'm baking a cake right now. So ....... Thank you and stay safe everyone out there! Anyone interested in the bread : 2 cups of self raising flour 1 cup of milk 4 tablespoons (quite heaped) mayonnaise Half a teaspoon of sugar Mix it all together (stiff consistency,) spoon dollops into a muffin pan and pop into the oven at about 180 degrees. This should make 12 medium breads or 6 larger breads depending on how you like it! You can also freeze them! Enjoy!😁👍

With that said my wife is totally onboard with prepping for at least 6 month of prepping and not just leaving it up to me. Thank for not just a good video but great ideas for a better prep which make this a great video.

I just wonder if they can get restaurant delivery as easily in Southern California as they do in New York. I live near Portland Oregon, and the only thing that we can get out here in the suburbs is pizza or one Chinese food restaurant that will deliver. There are some others that deliver but they charge $20 to go one block literally to my house. To be able to get something new. And I do not trust the Uber or the Lyft or dash.com style of deliveries either. I just can't stand the thought that someone could put something poisonous on my food or put their fingers on my food or their dog hair. I'd rather go without then have an untrusted delivery driver pick up my food for me.

@@staceyhunt5342 I dont think many restaurants outside of pizza and Asian food deliver on their own in New York. If you aren't using any 3rd party delivery sites, mostly you're only going to be able to get pizza or Asian food

I'm 7 minutes into the video and this is really showing how wasteful we are as humans. The amount of chemicals and plastics here is insane. I'm not criticizing you, but all of us. I use the same products but seeing such an amount for one family is absurd, I never buy in bulk like this so I don't see how much there actually is. I've personally been making efforts to move towards more entivomentally friendly alternatives, but I completely understand that it's not for everyone and not everyone is in the position to do so. I'm trying to stop weekly shopping to reduce excess food waste and impulse buying so I do really appreciate seeing what you keep on hand.
