37 year old female starts a YouTube

Hello there. You’ve found yourself at my first KZread video. Welcome! I’m Kat. A 30-something living in NYC. Just sharing my thoughts on creativity, living alone, working from home, feelings of isolation and missing community-okay, pretty much all the things! Hopefully I’ve tied it together in a way that makes sense and speaks to you, too. Thanks for stopping by. :)

okay... this was magical. I just wanted to pop in and say how wonderful this was. KZread is so washed out that it's hard to find innate, normal, human beings. I am turning 28 this year and have been on KZread for almost 10 years, this year was the year I came to terms that maybe it's time to try something new... just like you! This video gave me so much inspiration and hope to just follow my instincts and take a leap of faith. It's never too late to begin a new venture and we dont need to wait until we master something to put our toes in the water. As someone who will forever love watching KZread, I thank you for taking such a bold step and making a KZread channel. You are very wise and mature and I look forward to listening to your thoughts and enjoying your content. So many people in the comments have mentioned that this feels more like a TV series than a video. -ps your voice is so soothing!!! Sending you so much love and light and I hope you have the time of your life exploring new endeavors.

Glad you went for the youtube journey. It's truly been my therapy throughout my 20's and I'm excited to see what it does for me in my 30's. This video was so relatable. Like the whole "friends popping over thing" When you are 20 minutes away from even the closest gas station, there is no friends stopping over, ever. It's just being alone. But the internet really does help with building a community and I hope you find this with youtube too because I know I found mine and it's truly a blessing! 💗

I'm a 27 year-old female who also recently started a KZread channel. And I usually don't comment on the KZread videos I watch, but I resonated with so many things you said despite being in a different walk of life. With one video, you've pretty much inspired me to continue to strive and be a part of something. I find myself in a very similar situation: working from home for an unforeseeable amount of time. Actually it's more like unemployment for me, but I'm hoping it will be 2 years, max, But I don't really have full control over where life will take me at this point. And so with all this free time, I figured why not start a KZread channel documenting my life thus far? Bless you for validating my whim. And reading similar comments from other women adds to that feeling of being understood and being less alone. You have gained another subscriber here!

I know it's silly, but I was so afraid of running out of time to do everything I want. It's so reassuring to see other creative people in this age group launching these kinds of projects. It gives me hope that it's not too late to start whatever I want to do! Thanks for these kinds of videos! 🥰

Would love to know how much experience you’ve had with the technical side of things, if its part of your work. What channels inspired you etc. And from the personal side, I’m saving to buy my own place. So the building your own communities and social life from a proactive point of view too.. I’m joining clubs and trying to reach out to new people.. maybe they wont become my friends but maybe they’ll lead me to people who will. So yeah, inspiring and relatable! Something amazing happens when you turn 50. You completely stop giving an eff what anyone thinks of you but you. Back that up 11 years and grab hold of it now. I was the same way, but a decade+ older. Wanted to start YT, but so afraid of what people would think of me. I waited 2 years before I finally did it, and I told NO ONE I knew, not even my family, for the first couple of months. But I grew anyway, and loved it, and finally wanted to share it with everyone. 2 1/2 years in, just hit 1K subs, and OH how I wish I was 4 1/2 years in! It's just so much fun. Yeah, it's a lot of work, but I've learned so much and have an amazing community and have met some amazing creators who have become friends. Just set up your phone and press record. Record yourself doing stuff around the house to get comfortable on camera. And then go! You can do it!
