So cool. I also bought the Fort Maximus Titans Return in 2016 and it's still a huge favorite. It's just the biggest robot and looks the best. The original G1 version, always for me that is, looked kinda square and almost Lego like. This new version, looks like it's indeed sentient.

The turret from the transparent hatch can be used as Cerebros' gun

The Titans return line I think means that the Titans as in metroplex, fort max, trepticon, ans scorpinoc return to the fight or something. Please excuse my spelling of scorpinoc if its wrong

Well we got metroplex, fort Maximus, and Trypticon, and in earthrise we're finally getting scorponok.

Awesome review and display of the Titans Return,Generation 1 Fortress Maximus and the 30th anniversary of Metroplex. It's all so cool, great video.

Love mine and so thankful for my wife letting me get him. The chest compartment can be made to stay open in robot mode with a little fishing line. Cut and tie it to the right length and then for city mode just pull the gun out to let the line go.

Just picked one of these up myself. I wasn't too sure about it at first either, but I'm so glad I pulled the trigger!

Great video review for 2016! I got my Ft Max in 2019 and added additional gun and pistol add ons. I absolutely LOVE this titan. My 1st favorite is my Takara Metroplex, but this guy is fun to mess with as well. I use micromasters and miniture TF figures to give all my titans a more city based feel, and it works out great. I'm just glad I got all the titans at retail price rather than the prices they are going for now.

I recently got my hands on this guy. He is impressive.

I bought Cog...which lead to me buying this figure. Yeah, for a base figure, not much on gimmicks, very lackluster. The bot mode is the best thing about him. I've transformed Metroplex and Trypticon and can see all sorts of fun stuff that can be played with them. I've noticed that the red panels on his legs seem to unpeg a lot and the legs seem to have pegs to latch together for ship mode...but would attach due to other plastics in the way.

Ive had mine in the box since christmas 2016 when it was on sale because of all the reviews of people saying this fort max is bad. Its refreshing to hear a positive review. I don't care about the alt modes either. He will be displayed as a robot.

I just got the LG-31 version with Fortress (the head) saying lines from the Headmasters anime and playing a short version of the opening theme.

Hey Mike, I'm Chris's friend Danny, he told me about your channel and I just subbed to your channel. Love your approach to doing a toy review, especially this video on Fort Max. I was born in 72 and grew up in the 80's when times were good with great cartoons that supported the toy lines. I can tell you put a lot of love into your videos as a collector so keep up the good work. I myself have a wife that lets me enjoy collecting......makes life easier that's for sure! Lol

Hey Mike, thanks for checking out my channel. Great to meet another 'vintage' collector. :) The 80's were the golden age of toys and cartoons. While there's some good stuff from other decades, I find most of the shows from the 80's have the perfect blend of action, humour and morality for me. Cheers!

I personally ordered the Takara reissue of the original G1 Fort Max (just yesterday!) as this WAS the holy grail of the Transformers when I was a kid...along with the Flagg of course that I never got. But, I am so glad this was reissued and I have the chance finally to own it. As for the new version...I just don't know. I think the real thing that bothers me with these new renditions is that it seems there is too MUCH detail. I know that sounds weird or maybe stupid to some people (and probably definitely to younger viewers) but I grew up with Transformers having some detail...but not that much. They looked great (to me) and still do. Its like they have stepped over the fine line between good detail and excessive detail...if that makes any sense to anyone but myself :)

Great job on your reviews. I learn a lot about the characters from your reviews and enjoy the cartoon clips

Michael Mercy I'd like to think that my friends deserve these big boys more than I do since they've helped me through some tough times this year.

This figure is an example that hasbro can make tf toys with gimmicks,where there lights and sound or others !!

Nice. Did you ever go to HiWay Market in Kitchener? That was the place for toys before Toys R Us. There are some pictures around the net of their toy section and it sure brings back memories.

I've got both Metroplex(G1), & Fortress Maximus (G1), & so many more!

I'm glad I passed on this. I bought the Robots in Disguise Brave Max and finished him off with repro parts from Transrepro.com and I am happy with that. I like the city mode better and the starship mode reminds me of Whitebase from Mobile Suit Gundam.

Lol got mine titan fortress like this past summer haven't open up and touch it just open and check if there was any flaws here and there . And still had my 30+ year g1 fortress. Still aiming for g1 fort max R.I.D.

All 3 are on my TF COLLECTION list😊😊😊

Looks like Transformers getting upgrades in a same incarnation as the original toys. GI Joe should of get the same thing much better instead of the club making figures that messed up the Joe line. The vintage Joe toy line is the best because the details of the characters like their outfits, the shape of their looks and many more and the vehicles and playsets. They are the best GI Joe toys in the universe.

I've got the version which comes with the Master Sword.

Nice video. Are his legs not the same as Metroplex with the bays for citymode?

@MichaelMercy I got my Fortmax upgraded with all of the DNA-Kits and Toyhax stickers. The only thing I'm missing is, where can I get those small round turrets that you had plugged to his forearms?

Hi Michael. First, Excellent job u done on your transformers videos that I saw recently. The most I like : your report of Powermaster Optimus Prime... AMAZING. I remember, as kid, the toy (of a then-friend), the commercial of that time and else. Wonderful footage. Well for Titans Return Fortress Maximus. To comparing with Headmasters Fort Max, in my pointview, thanks with your footage, Titans Return version is good...but could be better in some points. Yes Emissary (head of Cerebros) too small that Headmaster version. But perfect when comes the head of Cerebros (like 80s TF cartoons). For Cerebros itself, version Titans returns... perfect too. Except the electronic voice of Cerebros...no I don't like it. Yes Fort Max hasn't Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) as his voice. But that should more better. For the sound of transformation... that's ok for me. But for Fort Max both mode city and battle station, it really ugly both. I don't know who had this idea for. But I not sure he didn't saw TF cartoons and web correctly well. But personally, it's should be much more better. Fortress Maximus version Titans returns, again in my mind, is not a fail but could be better. A little bit like Tripticon version Titans returns. Again Michael, your footages of toys are very impressives and amazing. And when I said in the footage debut about u paid a lot of money (price unknown) and the people around you enjoyed your passion, that's is admirable and touching u got. And I send a sign of respect and honor to u for✊🏾✌🏾. "Bravo bro"

if you mean transformers from this series and others the power rangers movie is the biggest but other then that id say metroplex

Hey compare the headmasters head to the studio series deluxe class arcee sisters head articulation and they have small ball joint heads can you do a comparison

Hi almost got G1 fortress maximus I saved up enough and they’re sold out

Can TR Fort Max use Generation Metroplex's hand guns? I'm hoping to finally buy TR Fort Max in a couple of days and I have the Takara version of Generations Metroplex with the extra hand gun, if he can use the same weapons in all of his modes than I can easily give him Metroplex's spare gun. I've been trying to get a Fort Max for pretty much thirty years so I'm hoping I can get the TR one very soon.

I always liked metroplex more

It's funny because I adore my Metroplex and display him in a modified base mode. The few things they did for that mold was for plex, like the arm hinge and the opening legs, and they go to waste in this retool. I couldn't bring myself to get this guy; it just felt like a waste. Especially with my beloved Brave Max looking so good already.

I bought the Takara Fort Max because it is accurate to the headmaster series. Fortress is the true leader , not hasbro’s cerebro

Yup, we've just been busy and haven't been able to coordinate a time to get together. I've been doing a lot of yoga and Matt's been going to a lot of concerts/movies. I don't go the theatre much anymore because I find cell phones in the theatre very distracting, and it's just happening more and more, so I wait for the blu-ray instead. But don't worry, we'll always take some time every few weeks or months to crank out new videos. Until then, there's hundreds of old ones you can rewatch! lol. Thanks for watching!

The G1 version is better...

if you have this guy purchase the upgrade stickers off toyhax.com it helps GREATLY also if you go to google and type "titan fortress maximus fan modes" you will find some cool alt modes to put him in that are way better than the dull boring ones used on the box

I might pick him up Tuesday since I'm off and it payday my girl supports my habits since she's like me loves transformers ninja Turtles power Rangers she's a big attack on Titan fan the first time she found out wat I was into we fell in love in a snap of a finger it's 1 and half we've been together and I'm the luckiest s.o.b Mexican in the world
