The bloop doesn't have an appearance at all. It was actually a sound made by an ice quake in the arctic that was picked up by scientists in the 1990's. So yes, that model is based on fanart. Just something made up by people who like the idea of a massive ocean sound coming from a similarly massive creature.

@@SunflowerAspenPlays but if you think about it, sometimes after you hear that sound, it REMINDS kinda of some big creature’s sound. Honestly I don’t know if the fact about the ice quake is true or not, but if it is, good for us 😨

@@SunflowerAspenPlaysthe iceberg theory was a coverup made by the government. The sound of Ice breaking would never be loud enough to be heard from 3,000 miles away. That’s like hearing a sound that came from New York all the to Los Angeles.

This is great and all but... The bloop isn't a real creature, prehistoric or otherwise. Rather, "The bloop" was a baffling sound recorded by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in 1997. It was far lower frequency than any whale or other large creature, leading many to ponder what the source was. These days, we know it resulted from an ice quake, or in other words, two large plates of ice shifting near one another, similar to the ground shifts on land causing earthquakes. A few years ago, the sound clip was popularized and some artists drew their rendition of what they believed a creature who made that sound would look like, which is what's represented in this video.
