Right on my friend! I’ve been trying not to look at my center console due to all the scratches and nicks. Y’all know, the Nissan version of “plasti-dip” they used that will come off if you sneeze too close, forget touching it. Had I known it was so easy, I would’ve wrapped it a long time ago! Thanks man.

My counsel is in good condition, however the door is scratched up. How do you replace the door? Do you have to remove the counsel? BTW I have the exact cell phone holder. Mine is in the vents. Work nicely.

I have an 05 with an aftermarket radio, I need to take it out to test one of the wires so I only need to unscrew the top 2 screws along with the bottom 2 that mount the radio?

It’s been awhile but I think that’s right. But double check I should have shown all the screw points in the video.

So, my shifter knob is the OEM shifter knob. It’s on there pretty damn tight to the point where I can’t simply twist it off. Do I need to use a vice grip or something to secure the shifter leading down to the shifting fork from twisting while twisting my shifter knob off?

The Kai Project you used towel on top of the knob and turned or did you use the vice grips to hold the shifter shaft

What kind of phone mount do you have? And what kind of mounting brackets did you use to install it to the side?

I don't use one anymore but the one I used in the past was a magnetic mount I got at Walmart. I can't remember the exact name.

I couldn’t quite see the tab to press at 8:15 to disconnect the wiring to the gauge pods. Also, do you or the other commenters know if it will any electrical problems will occur if the car is driven with the center console removed and unplugged? I ask because I’m also painting it, and during the painting/drying time I’m curious if any electric/ecu problems will occur. Thank you and very good video.

Troy Meade yeah it was kind of hard to film. There is a lip that goes over the tab. You need to press under it. You can also drive with the center dash taken out. I did for a week. Nothing will happen.

I think if you are a responsible driver and keep up with maintance such as tires it could work. Just realize everything for this car is kind of expensive. The back end will kick out easily if traction control is off so can't be stupid driving it. Honestly as a example if I had a kid though as a first car this probably wouldn't be it.

by any chance do u still have your old center console? I'm in need of that Lil cubby door please let me know

Not sure. I use to own a Nismo Shift knob and it came with it. When I got rid of that knob i kept that little piece.

Awe man wish I was planning on it but it was such a pain to do I'm going to end up just hydro dipping the center console carbon fiber. I'm to picky and like it perfect and my attempts to wrap stuff in previous videos was up to my standards. Sorry originally was planning on it but had to change course on it.

So what are you implying? You can’t take the center console apart without a aftermarket shift knob? Your oem shift knob will spin off after you give it some force.

From Australia, Many thanks mate you inspired me to take the console apart and paint it!
