Everyone knows the 3DO video game console...but not everyone knows about the cancelled 3DO M2! I have been doing my best to bring this rare and obscure retro gaming platform to everyone...and today I have something extra special...a treasure hunt! That's right....I am PULLING OUT ALL THE STOPS TO FIND THE LAST FEW POTENTIAL PIECES OF 3DO M2 SOFTWARE SO I CAN DUMP THEM AND SHARE THEM FREELY FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY / FOR VIDEO GAME PRESERVATION :) retro gaming bounty hunt time!
Note: This is not clickbait...find it, get rewarded. Simple as that! Fixel, the developer of the 3DO ODE (Optical Disc Emulator) threw in 1K of his own money too...so now the total bounty on the M2 version of D2 stands at $2000
Patreon Thanks: Seth Peterson, John Thompson, Paul Daniel, Porch, Jon Anderson, RayceARoni, Kuranghu, Jason Hixon, Alex Tessler, Jonathan Leung, Martin Donlon, Tom Van Deusen, barabob, Steve Randall, Ahab, K-2, Renaissance 2K, Ivar Wennerhold, Adrien Sebbane,
Mike Puelinckx, Tony Escobar, H7, Ben Parfitt, Holger Schmidt, Tim Lehner, Shad Uttam, Dan L, Coupon Joe, Sunder Raj, Dorfus the Maple Syrup Man, John Booty, Richard S, Eric Gutt and Robert Alger!
For the last ten years, a few pieces of 3DO M2 software have eluded me. Some I KNOW exist...and some I THINK exist...but if they are out there I want to find them and acquire them so I can share them with everyone else :) just like I did with all the rest of the 3DO M2 software I have given away freely.
Here is the list:
the M2 version of D2, known as D No Shokutaku 2 in Japan. It's my white whale
3DO M2 "Dolphin Demo" AKA "Trouble Decker". I know it exists, I just can't acquire a copy.
The 3DO M2 arcade version of Power Stone (the Dreamcast and Sega NAOMI game)
The 3DO M2 version of Distuptor; confirmed to have been in development.
ANY OTHER M2 software I don't know exists :)
ANY VERSION OF THE 3DO M2 SDK BEYOND 3.1
a total of $3600 is up for grabs...so find these and claim it!
Questions? Comments? Just leave them below and I will do my best to answer each and every one of them!

@@VideoGameEsoterica honestly, I completely get it man. I’d have to say it’s pretty greedy to horde the possibly “only” copy of software, so that no one else can enjoy it. Your point is valid, I have a lot of 3DO discs that were already unplayable due to disc rot. And I mean, you aren’t asking to purchase his copy for you to keep and horde it to yourself, it’s software. You just need to copy it. And maybe one day, no matter how well it’s “preserved” this other person’s copy will also become unusable as well, and then it’s literally lost to time, and then everyone loses. How sad. All I can say is I hope everyone that has an M2 opens up the case, and maybe we can find a copy of these on one of those “memory cards” or a disc in a machine that doesn’t work. Crossing my fingers for everyone man. Thank you for all your hard work and time. Love the videos and keep it going man!

How much new old stock is there of the custom chips used on the M2? Are any of them still manufactured and/or do any of their manufacturers advertise backwards compatibility in any currently produced parts? Given the existence of things like OpenTendo and GManMods' open source N64 portable motherboard, I kind of wonder how difficult it would be to make a board replacement that would be compatible with the FZ-35S. That would definitely get more people able to play on something functionally equivalent to original hardware, and could potentially increase the size of the community of people who know and are interested in finding old software for the platform.

If you talked to Kenji Eno then you already know the original "D2" was never fully completed. However, there is definitely a 3DO/M2 demo disc that does exist & contains about 15 to 20 minutes or so of gameplay from the original "D2" as well as demos for a few other games on the same disc. Not sure how many were pressed, but they are out there. Sadly I don't own a copy. Just curious, do you have the Japanese special collector's edition box set of "D: Complete Graphics" for Playstation? About D.. the only thing that comes to mind is for you to get in contact with the page From Yellow to Orange Inc. Their original name as you know was WARP. Probably the game is on a old pc from someone from the old team (if they still work there) but I highly suspect there should be at least 1 person there or someone with contacts with the family of the late Kenji Eno. Maybe give them a offer or something to a employee or that person can pass the message to one of the family members of Kenji ? Im sure they will enjoy more the 3500 than a old game that will never see the lights of day. If by some chance you go that route, and have success, maybe even offer a little more if you can afford it and purchase the whole old computer or just the hard drives in order to get the engine ,tools source files. That should open a nice door for a fan community to tweak the thing . I know, i make it sound too easy when typing haha. Good luck mate ! Cheers 👍 Edit: I was too quick to type before watching the whole video.Apologies. Still, not a bad idea to search if someone from the company is still there and may have something. Also, there is always the possibility that Kenji either forgot something or just said it was destroyed because he was on other projects. No company eliminates assets that fast! Normally they even try to keep them safe as reference for sequels so there is the possibility that Kenji probably didn't gave the full inside info. Just speculating here though.

People don't talk about Kenji Eno enough His games were weird, out there, and have some of the best of the best worst video game moments... I for one loved every second of his D trilogy I called him, with the upmost respect possible, the Tommy Wiseau of video games. Mind you, I found the games n 2019 when testing a PS1 mod, and needed a short game with multi discs so I could test the disc swap....and this began my journey with D.... So nothing he was doing was groundbreaking or anything in our minds at the time ... But it was all very "out there", from the crazy story concepts to the questionable mostly monotone voice acting.. But me and my friends had a 3D party...that last three weeks, and every Friday we'd play and beat a D game

@@VideoGameEsoterica my man! Feel free to ping me with any questions or comments needed, maybe I'll try to do a replay of at least d and enemy zero before then.. D2 may be rough with the kiddo since my house is 100 years old and my toddler wakes up when I even think about walking on our creaky floors

Don’t let your toddler see you play D2. They will never go near plants again

If someone finds D2, I‘ll throw $50 into the pot. Not much, but I‘m offering it. I had no idea Power Stone was on the M2, I‘d love to see that too…

It’s appreciated and yep Power Stone started life on M2. Capcom and Konami were the two companies that licensed the hardware for arcade usage. Obv only Konami finished the job
