Hey Sam if you run the block numbers like the suffix code it will tell you what Chevy uses the motor in an interceptor came up with fleet vehicles also From what I understand interceptor performance package was a higher horse power

@@waynedavidson2691 So. FYI. It's actually called the suffix not sussex. That's a place in England. That code really means nothing more or less. Chevy used the same code in different applications and different years. Unless you're building a matching numbers engine or looking for something valuable, again those numbers mean nothing. Casting code and date casting tell you much more. And still those don't matter too much for regular builds. Now you know !!!

Interceptor was offered to state police also as they were built alot better than the family car. Not enough demand for police back then and the public could get them on special orders with one or two minimal differences.

wtf is an interceptor. Never Hearst word used in conjunction with a GM engine… ever.

@@waynedavidson2691 no. GM never used the “interceptor” name. maybe you are thinking “invader”? GM offered pop up pistons in production engines. .460 lift isn’t much either. 300hp engines carried that much lift. Any supporting documents about this interceptor? Or just stories from the liars club ?

Hey mat yeah Ford used the word interceptor and Chevy LM1 was motor of choice for the mods of durability but was referred to as a police interceptor motor and didn't appear till 75 Thanks for the info a good point
