So nice to see Lendl so relaxed and the calmness in his life can be seen. God bless him.

Lendl is imo the father of modern tennis. Staying back and pounding groundstrokes, diet and training, changing racquets with new balls etc. Are all part of today's game.

Absoltute fan of Ivan, I really appreciate that he recognizes that he was lucky in the USO semi-final in 1984. It was really difficult for him to play versus Pat Cash. Mats had less difficulties except on the british grass. Tennis was sometimes really amazing...

it;s the other way round, Mats had more difficulties against Cash's game than what Ivan Lendl did. Also Mats was wrong. He lost to Ivan in 1982 USO forth round. Cash defeated Wilander in 1984 USO in 4 sets in the Round of 16s.

wasn't there the mens senior finals to begin, Newcombe and Smith i think, which was also 3 sets, which pushed back the start of Lendl and Cash? that was the last time they had senior/invitational matches on stadium court. but, yeah, that was a historic day. too bad the wrong guy won on sunday.

Interesting that Mats forgot he actually lost to Cash in the 1984 QF.. Lendl beat Gomez to reach the SF. Love Cash but he does come off a bit pissy here even if he is joking. I know he did not like Lendl, but the past is the past. I’d like to see the rest of this interview
