$35 vs $360 Flannel: What's the Difference? Featuring Iron Heart, Filson, and Goodfellow | 555 Gear
In this video I compare what is widely regarded as the top-of-the line flannel made by Japanese boutique brand Iron Heart with a flannel that you can currently get at Target for 35 bucks. I also throw in the Filson Vintage Flannel as a middle option if you're not ready to pony up the full $360 for the iron heart.

I have many Iron Heart flannels, Filson, and love UES flannels (might be the best bang for buck in terms of quality/price). However I just got a flannel from Cotopaxi and for $85 they are very nice, very heavy, and well made. Just another good option for the budget minded. Great review!
Love a nice flannel shirt. I’m a fan of LL Bean’s flannel shirts. I’ve read about this company out of Japan. One day I’ll pull the trigger on one. Thanks for the review. Triple 5er out.
The closest thing I have is from Outerknown blanket. I need to give that ironheart a shot. Very nice video.

I know. I have half a dozen Iron Heart shirts as well as other Japanese shirts. I said to myself I don't need anymore, especially when considering the cost. But I don't have the one in the video, and now I want it.
Could you compare hoodies quality between pricing; in quality alone ignoreing astetics.
Love to see you making videos again, Andrew! I must say, filson’s quality is better, but generally doesn’t match the price that they’re charging. They’ve fallen quite a bit from their old status. Like you point out, very few things are made in the USA anymore and the cost is hard to justify for what you get. Thanks for your hard work, can’t wait to see more content!

What is your favorite flannel?
My wife is a realtor and it blows my mind what some of her coworkers spend on clothing…..$2000 dress shoes, $500 tennis shoes, $1000 pants, purses $$$$? I work my butt off and don’t have that kind of disposable income

While Iron Heart is known for having the best flannels in the game. What they're really known for is having the best denim in the world. Specifically the 21oz Indigo. I own a TON of iron heart and if you think 300+ for their pieces is too much, you're sadly mistaken. It's heirloom quality stuff that is nearly unmatched.

I have a collection of all types of clothes from a few Japanese brands, which all excel in quality. But Iron Heart is definitely my favourite.

The fact that prices are a lot lower for their clothes in Japan tells me that they are definitely overpriced.

@jeejbeej Maybe they are overpriced. I don't know know what the price difference is, but there are extra costs like shipping. I compare my IH 21oz jeans to a pair of Levis selvedge 501s, which I have, and to me the Iron Hearts are much more superior in quality than the Levis for only about a third more in price. That's UK prices.
