The best smell is bread baking. I also love the smell of yeast in dough as it rises. Very nostalgic.

This video is soooo beautiful! The tears always come when you mention the past and memories. My daughter is 4 and I can feel every word 😊 Life is funny...how the past, present and future combine in our thoughts.

I see the Vietnamese writing in all of your vlogs which makes me very excited to see you cook something Vietnamese. I know that parts of Vietnam were colonized by the French and many people in some areas of Vietnam get their education in Viet and french. some of the people who go to the Buddhist temple I attend here in America speak both languages. Banh Mi, a sandwich that speaks two languages! I'd love to see more Vietnamese culture interwoven into your vlogs!

Hi! I just came across your channel yesterday and i must say i really love your videos. I'm a Filipino nurse working here in Saudi Arabia. With the ongoing battle against Covid 19 I feel exhausted but your videos really help me to relax. I also love your recipes though i havent tried those yet. They are healthy and green and look delicious. 😊

I live in the south of Germany and I really like Banh Mi. We have a small shop right here, but we have to pay almost 5€ for one Banh Mi. But I like those sandwiches so much, that I pay that price. It's a really good and filling meal for every situation.😋

Another great video, thank you! Personally, I love the food in and from Vietnam! Whether it is Pho Ga at Lee's in Saigon or the best Banh Mi I ever had in Hoi Anh, Vietnam has some of the best and freshest food on the planet. I even had a Döner Vietnamese Style in Hanoi....it was fabulous!! I'm glad you find ways to stay connected with your culinary traditions.

3 things I love about this video 1. Banh mi 2. Scenery - absolutely amazing 3. Sound track - has very calming effect. Watching your video at 2am. I miss banh mi and goicon. Love vitenamese food.

I'm always fascinated to see how Vietnamese people have so easily adapted our baguette to the local taste. Smaller, fluffier, easier to carry around. Will definitely try this for my dad, because there's more than the jambon-beurre. :)

i'm fascinated! here in brazil we also have a variety of this bread called "pão francês" (french bread) which looks exactly the same.

Watching this made me miss eating curry crab with banh mi. We always went out to a restaurant to celebrate and the banh mi was our favourite part. So fluffy on the inside, while so deliciously crispy on the outside! Always love your channel; and it's true -- my mom may not have been the best communicator when it came to our language barrier, but now that I'm older I miss her home cooking every day. Her childhood favourite food was those big white steamed man tou ripped in half with a fried egg in between. Food will always be a universal language!

12 Jahre habe ich in Vietnam gearbeitet und gelebt. Es war die beste Zeit in meinem Berufsleben. Jetzt bin ich in Rente und vermisse Vietnam unglaublich sehr. Was für ein dynamisches Land. Hatte 250 Mitarbeiter. Mit vielen stehe ich heute noch in Kontakt. Banh Mi ist so Klasse. Feile immer noch an der Verbesserung. Baue selber Reis an, von der Sorte, die ich von einer Bäuerin geschenkt bekommen habe. Der Geschmack ist unvergleichlich. Auch Bittermelonensamen keimt hoffentlich bald. Pak Choi pflanze ich morgen aus. Wunderbar. Dein Kanal gibt mir so viel gute Erinnerungen. Mach weiter so.

Gorgeous video as always. I remember having peanut butter tofu banh mi at a shop in Tam Coc (the shop is called Banh Mi Hà Nội) - best banh mi I had when I was in Vietnam! I’m vegan and this is one of those Vietnamese dishes that I feel can bring everyone together - just like you said, every vendor has their secret! 🥰

When the Vietnamese refugees went to my province Palawan, they introduced banh mi. Locals call it "french bread". I've grown eating that and it became part of Palaweno's cuisine. That's the best comfort food for me. Now that I am living in other province, I really miss eating banh mi/french bread and pho/chao long.
