They asked Oda if the one piece world has electricity because they wanted to add lights to the baratie and such. Oda himself was surprised by the question cause no one ever thought to ask him that. And after some thinking, Oda confirmed to the netflix team that YES the one piece world does have electricity, so it is totally fine for them to add lights/neon lights. So yeah, thats not a mistake :) Great video tho, loved it :D

Electricity was mentioned in the Anime as well, when a travelling merchant wants to sell an electric knife sharpener to the straw hats

When the Marines talk about one of their warlords being a fishman, Arlong straight up says "Jinbe was weak!" I was like "Now I know he's evil. Don't you talk that way about Jinbe! He's a hero!"

Oda had been consulted about the decorative "neon lights" and said it's totally fine to use them. So, that's not a mistake.

I love how the fans are correcting the 'mistakes' which are not really mistakes. Goes to see how dedicated the staff are in making sure it follows the story to a T. I even watched how they even used Oda sensei's fan corner answers to even know the characters likes and dislikes.

thing is yes it isn't filler at all, however i can understand Netflix cutting it bcs the new live action fans would probably not have much patience as we normal One Piece fans do, and to casuals it would definitely seem like a filler arc if they had an entire season on Long ring Long Land, the only way Netflix could possibly keep it in is if they gave their seasons longer episodes, but that won't help with the whole 1hr per episode thing (unless they condence the whole arc into a few eps but even that wouldn't be enough bcs the arc after Long Ring needs it's own season)

The problem with cutting foxy is he is important to the plot, since his ability is what helped Luffy remain unaffected by Boa Hancock's beam attack.

They can condense the Foxy part of Long Ring Long Land down to half an episode if they only only mention the donut race and condense both the groggy ring and the fight between Luffy and Foxy down to 10 minute or less segments each. Because in the manga thats all there is to the Davy Back fight. The anime added the other junk with Robin also being won from the straw hats in a second Davy Back Fight.

One piece era is clearly defined on Vegapunks island in the manga. Trust me, neon lights are the least of your concerns 🤣😂🤣Not to mention the pasifistas..

For technological inconsistencies i just remenber its a fantasy world. The neon could be like special glow bugs. Or fish skin bandaging like a secret fishman wound treatment.

Still.. we can just dismiss them as “that’s just the way this world is”.. it’s a weird world where lamp, headset, gas powered, electricity exist but they use snail to provide communication. And because Egghead now we know that Vegapunk is trying his hardest to provide them with free wifi 😂

It's clear that the show is in a different universe where some Inventions happened sooner. You can see it not only with the neon lights... But the clothes that the characters are wearing and maybe the fact that there's electricity. It's a stylistic choice, not a mistake.

Yes... That was my thought as well. (So both the electricity & fish-skin bandages wouldn't have adhered... 😂pun intended... to our universe's time-line).

For those who doesn't know, chopper is confirmed in season 2.

Mackenyu said he would dedicate all the time needed to make 50 seasons if neccesary, and a 2nd season is on the way already

I agree, the show lost that bit of comedy. However, despite it being funny in anime, I cannot imagine how to make it funny in real life. 🤔 If it's a normal human psychology, Nami would be dead tired and irritated by Sanji by the third time he hits on her, and in comics he's doing it all the time)) I like a portrayal of a persistent man, but never I have had any romance vibes between Nami and Sanji in manga, so his hitting would look embarrassing.

Just to point out that the One Piece era is simultaneously behind and ahead of our own. My headcanon is that its about 12,000AD, maybe even closer to 30,000. The world building apocalypse doesn't seem to be a direct result of where we appear to be headed, so maybe we've had a couple more cycles between now and the events of OP. Neon was decided not to interfere with existing lore, and I have to say,, I think I'm onto something

@@akagamianiki I will admit, alright electricity does exist in this world, it's just not all islands have it, but,, the Baratie is a boat... I have no problem with neon in this adaptation, but I might have to headcanon that it's something else that's self sustaining, as the actual application kinda makes no sense. If it's electricity ran, it's either off a potato battery, or c'mon, you've got electricity and you only use it for advertising!?

I think this is the first time I have seen a live action cast that fits so well with the characters. Kudos for Oda for being close to the production instead of letting the usual clowns ruin it like they did with Cowboy Bebop.

Franky invented a robot. im pretty sure neon lights is possible there and fish skin wounds healing is fine. chopper invented a rumble ball. so everything there is possible

5 and 6 are not mistakes. One piece world is not our world. Strawhats wear modern attire in the entire anime, so technically, we can't correlate the pirate era of one piece with our world. There are also robots, Androids, lasers etc in one piece world. The neon lights and presence of Electricity was approved by Oda sensei when he was consulted if the one piece world has electricity. The Fish Skin thing might be discovered by midern medicine in recent century, that doesn't mean it was a common knowledge in olden times. And especially considering one piece world having a totally different kind of history, technological evolution different from our world, we can't compare and say they are inaccurate or wrong. That's just one piece world.

Jinbei and franky are easy to adapt, cyborgs are being made using CGI think about transformers and other sci fi movies. As for Jinbei, think about how people made Avatar the way of water, my only concern is how are they going to present chopper in the series.
