Honestly, Olive's videos are such a gem. Like where would someone like me get to know about such amazing books which are way underrated and overshadowed in mainstream book community. So thankful to each and everyone of her recommendations.

Every single Sunday morning I wake up and turn to KZread for two reasons: To watch the CBS Sunday Morning News, and to watch Olive's book reviews. Last week I ran out and bought "Seinfeldia" on Olive's recommendation. Before I ever thought about being a writer, I was a passionate reader. So I can barely wait the seven days to see her funny, insightful reviews on my screen. And thanks for enjoying my books, Olive. I'll 'see you' next Sunday. -- Jack

I also recently learned about Alexander Graham Bell and the harm we did to the deaf community. Very interested in the Christmas Carol one, as I think a movie just came out last year with that same title.

The Children’s Blizzard is really good. These all sound good. I don’t usually read a lot of non-fiction. I think that should be a goal for me in the coming year. Blessings.

"The Children's Blizzard" is an excellent book. I mean, horrifying, but really well written. I love that you had a section of books on winter animals. Definitely interested in the reindeer one.

I think I'm most excited about the sewing history one, and 'The Children's Blizzard' - which might be the same blizzard as that of 'The Long Winter' by Laura Ingalls Wilder?

I love books about animals and I haven't read enough. I started getting some great recommendations from your channel and I'll make a list for the new year. Now, the nonfiction book I read about animals is a book I had bought long time ago and for some reason I got distracted by other books and never got to it. I'm trying to read and reread my room "library" along with any new books I'm getting, so here is #1. The Bird Way: A New Look at How Birds Talk, Work, Play, Parent, and Think by Jennifer Ackerman. I'm not too far along yet, but I find some of the information I didn't now about birds, which I love, and I enjoy it. #2. Girl in a Green Gown: The History and Mystery of the Arnolfini Portrait by Carola Hicks (almost done with this book). Another nonfiction about animals that I have on my bookshelves for well over a couple years and I plan to read starting New Year is Voices in the Ocean: A Journey into the Wild and Haunting World of Dolphins by Susan Casey. I don't even remember how or where I got this book, but I love Dolphins. I think a friend who doesn't read happen to have it and gave it to me.

I read “SHOCKED” when it first came out and enjoyed it. There is a new illustrated coffee table style book that just came out “Shocking: The Surreal World of Elsa Schiaparelli.” Another excellent book on the child/parent dynamic is “Lies My Mother Never Told Me” by Kaylie Jones, the daughter of author James Jones.”Cinderella Man” was also an excellent movie with Russell Crowe & Renee Zellweger.

Thanks again, Olive for a great video! I enjoy your NF recommendations as I don’t read a lot of it. I do have a goshawk book you may be interested in. It’s called Goshawk Summer by James Aldred. It was short-listed for (or won?) the Wainwright Prize for nature writing in the UK 2022.

Have you heard about These Violet Delights by Micah Nemerever? It's sort of dark academia-adjacent thriller set in Pittsburgh in the 1970s. I really loved it, and I know you like local reads AND campus novels, so it might be something you'd like!

Shelf Life was the very fist book I read in 2022. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Are you planning to read The Children's Blizzard soon? I look forward to hearing about it, if so. There's actually a mural in the Nebraska state capitol building that commemorates a teacher who rescued her schoolkids from the snow.

Thank you so much for listing the books with links. I can only imagine it being a lot of work. (So few do it.). I was able to sit back and relax while watching. FYI: 2023 is a no buy year for me with one exception (Independent writer: Margaret Pinard.). I'm also doing away from mainstream fiction with all the swearing and now higher use of female genitalia. I've had enough.) I've enjoyed your channel, love NF and memoirs, and you do most of the weeding. I'm off to a great start I found Zuleikha at Hoopla and Scrib. I'm going to search for the two basketball players next. Happy Reading and much success.
