Please excuse the first minute or so of me talking. This video was filmed when KZread first introduced their new gun policies. The gun community did not know what was going to happen so we were preparing for the worst. Regardless I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching! 😁

Well good news . Matt from Demolition Ranch was just saying the other day that they got KZread to reverse all of the crazy Magazine inserting and Suppressor installation strikes on their channel and now all of their videos have been reinstated and are good to go.
Holy crap I’ve never seen a block of gel get launched like those did. I’ll take the .50 just because it costs more and I could sell it and buy the .338 Lapua and have money left for ammo and beer.

Good plan ✌️
I own both. Have a 107 and a RPR 338. Both are great rifles . Got 3K in one and 15K in the other. The 338 holds a considerably better group at distance. Both should be standard issue for every tax paying American.

I'm pretty sure it's like a Wile E. Coyote deal. Giant explosions cause one heck of an owwie.
Actually a very easy question for me. I would take the 338 Lapua, all day long. It is typically a lighter system to carry (gun and ammo), and it will still put down Godzilla, T-Rex, and King Kong.
338 lapua all day everyday! Recoil like a 308 You can shoot it all day Very accurate Does well out the box from zero to 1,000yards In the right hands well beyond 1,500 yards Easy to carry Savage 338 lapua's- a lot of bang for your buck ! Signature is not that bad !
The 50 bmg without question! I was lucky enough to put a few rounds down range once, there is nothing else in the gun world that compares to it for the shear excitement when that round goes off. There was a 10 year old boy watching everyone else shoot it, every time the owner of it or the boys father would ask him to try it he would shrink back and decline. Finally after a rather small woman shot it he relented to try it, when he turned around after the shot he had such a big smile on his face, everyone just stood there and clapped. The few remaining people that hadn't shot said let him finish the few remaining rounds, and he did with no encouragement needed. (It was the best day at the range I ever spent)
Lapua for hunting yeti and 50 cal for the boulder that yeti hiding behind.
Watching this from 2020. Glad to see you guys survived!
loved the intro. 338 on the Christmas list. BMG will be for the 4X4 monster truck,... when I can talk the wife into believing its a great investment. Wish me luck.

Holy hell! I've never seen huge, heavy gel blocks fly Into the air like that! Simply a hell of a thing to see! Me being a collector, I would take the free 50BMG no doubt about it.. Worth the most $$! Thanks Scott and K.B.!
Give me the 50, so I can sell it and buy the 338 and have enough money left over to actually be able to afford to shoot the damn thing.

Genius X)
I'm going to give my honest opinion regarding the 338 vs 50bmg argument as well as perhaps shed some light as to why 50BMG isn't really a sniper round, despite it being absolutely amazing at doing the job it was designed for. To be honest if I was given the option between a free .338 Lapua or a free 50BMG, I'd have to go with .338 Lapua. I like 50bmg, don't get me wrong. It's a fantastic anti-material round and it is a great time to shoot, but I also like long distance target shooting (or "sniping" as some people call it) and 50 BMG doesn't always have the velocity and the aerodynamic performance that 338 lapua offers. 50BMG is a much heavier, fatter, and wider round and therefore it doesn't cut through the air as effectively and is more effected by wind resistance once you get to long enough ranges that the projectiles are going from supersonic, to transonic, to eventually subsonic (keep in mind, I'm talking ranges like thousand yard and up) because of this, however, it does a fantastic job as an anti-material round because that weight does a good job of pushing through armor or thick walls or anything else you throw it at. Especially with those speciality rounds like black tips and incendiaries. I've noticed 50 BMGs like to sway around in the wind or tumble on occasion where as myself and most the people I've talked to haven't had the same experiences as often with .338 Lapua. If you want 338 lapua like velocities and accuracy and are interested in long distance shooting, but still want the sort of destructive fun that 50bmg provides, California banned 50bmg and by accident created 416 Barrett and it actually comes pretty close to being the best of both worlds.
That is why I don't like gel. if that was a Paul Harrell meat target you would see what both of those monsters would do.
Why is this getting recommended after 2 years
It's strange seeing that serbu in 1 piece

If I could have any free 338 Lapua it would be the Noreen Bad News Gen 2. The 50 caliber would be the Serbu BFG 50A. Why those? They are both semiautomatic for total devastation and intimidation, but they are super accurate for being semiautos. The Noreen has been shown to shoot .34 MOA and the Serbu can get .5 MOA. SIGN ME UP! In addition they are both lightweight with great brakes.

338 definitely. That 50bmg would put holes in my wallet faster than I could anything downrange...

.338 ammo is far more expensive because of supply and demand. The fifty is way more popular around the world, therefore a lot more supply and lower prices.

@@ModernWarflare ; I just save brass and reload thus saving me money. so I can send 300 rounds down range twice a month. For around 40 bucks.
Good to know that the .338 will be adequate for squirrels and the 50 cal should have enough power for groundhogs. Cool video brother...

Plus round weight differences, platform weight differences, & flight differences. Personally I'd take 338 any day but then again I don't have the skill to max out either lol
Going back watching your older vids..... the answer to your question 50 bmg vs .338 Lapua....... free of charge? .338 all day long.
I'd like to see a 400 yard ballistics gel test on the .338 vs .50 calibers. Which one looses muzzle velocity at that distance? I think distance is where the true story is (bullet drop, velocity, penetration). That said, this was one cool video, seeing gel blocks flying thru the air!
@KalLanPIDT
6 жыл бұрын
The faster .338 bullet will have flatter trajectory at 400 yards but it slows down faster then the heavier bullet so at longer ranges the. 50 wont drop as much since it carries much more energy and wont slow down as fast. If both bullets are FMJ not hollowed, the .50 will always be better at penetrating at all ranges.
My dog and cat would have PTSD if I had that dinosaur suit.
The intro was frigging funny, got a good laugh off of it...thanks👍👍
awesome videos for topics we wouldn't see anywhere else. thanks scott for all your fine efforts.
Thank you for putting down that homicidal t-rex.
Intro reminded me of demo ranch
Already bought my 3rd Lapua. Shooting a Lapua suppressed is more fun that you can imagine, kicks like a .243W and very easy on the ears. 1" groups at 200 yards are cool.
i like it, no uber tactical BS, no weird sniper fetish, just a fun quick video. 10/10.
That 50 looks like a good home defense round. ... lol
what about very dangerous water melons? lol great video- I want the 338.

Tough choice. 338 is more useful but I've wanted a 50bmg since I was 10.
.338 Lapua....I can't do much hunting with a 50 bmg and expect to have anything worth eating left. Plus I live in California...
This is the most difficult firearms question I have faced recently. It would actually depend on the gun. My inclination is towards the .50 BMG. Ammunition, except in my native California, seems more common. Vastly more energy through its entire flight regime, which would afford more flexibility, for me. The only other option I would consider in this category would be .416 Barrett. Thank you for a fantastic video. I usually watch KZread to relax, but I immediately sat up when you posed your question. I’m impressed. Thank you again.
Congratulations on 200k I remember when you had under 15k glad to see you making it brthee

For a .50 i prefer the M107a1. However for maximum stopping power. I own a Anzio Iron Works 20mm Vulcan. HIt that ballistic gel with a 20mm HE/Incendiary round and it will be liquified. Hit a bowling ball with what bowling BALL
The 50 BMG is for when Bigfoot hides behind a tree with a Buffalo is front of it.
Hey scott I've been watching your channel for years and you make my day bro.. Keep it up bro
Just found your channel, and I really like it! I wish I would have found it sooner..50 cal, just in case I run into bigfoot lol! Thanks for the video, I really appreciate it! Subscribed and hit that bell! Stay safe out there and God bless!
The .338 was specifically designed around the sniper's needs and has more reach-out-there and touch you (2,000 yd kills verified). Where the .50 delivers more energy at a shorter distance (1,960 yd verified. YES!! I know about the Canadian 2,734 yd kill but he's Super Man) but the rifle was developed around an existing cartridge forcing the sniper to bend to the will of the round. Personally I would go with the .50 because I already have few hundred rounds of spent .50 brass and just need to get the press.

Kenneth Johnson, 50BMG has a maximum effective range of 7500 meters. Nothing else in a center fire rifle cartridge legal for civilian use can offer that. 50BMG also has more capacity to carry AP, Incendiary, HE, and other specialty rounds or combinations of each. 338LM can't touch 50BMG at any range. Was in the Marines for 5 years and I've been shooting precision bolt guns at long ranges my whole life. I consider long range to start at 1000 yards and anything after 1760 yards (1 mile) to be extreme long range.
Little did he know that that 50 cal would almost be the death of him😢
3 years and 3 50s later and Kentucky Ballistics still lives on!
The T-Rex part was absolutely hilarious! 😂
If you are hunting wild tanks too. Most people catch them while they are young to raise them to be Abrams.
338 is beautifully exotic, but I'd hulk out with the 50.😁
Love this video. Thanks!

Subbed just for the intro. That was hilarious.
Wow, he learned how to get a lot more animated for his videos in 6 years.
Shoot a block with a Raufoss Mk 211 round. That’s what we used in the Corps with the SASR. For shooting LAV’s, IED’s, technicals, canteens, zippers, buttons, rifles, and various other material. Obviously never intending to hit people with an anti material rifle...
My 1.5 year old daughter loved that opener😃
Those are made to shoot long range. Take them to a 1 mile range and let's see what you got! Let's go!
I like how the jelly did an epic bouncy dive from the table from the 338
What do you mean... "For Now". I like coming back and rewatching these videos. Tactical T-Rex freakin cracks me up.
Simply put, i can afford the .338 ( may take a little time, but its in my price range.) So ill take the .50 and go buy the .338 later

@@ELRman86 If you look around almost everything is that way these days. Nobody can come up with new inventions so they just improve on 50 year old shit over and over and over. TVs are bigger and thinner and have better quality but it's still the same shit I was using in 1999, 20 years ago. Cars are fancier and safer and have better features but they're still 4 wheels and an engine, same shit we've been using since the 20s. Society is getting progressively dumber thanks to modern medicine and the insane amount of time wasting shit out there these days.
Psssst...It's me from the future. Your channel is still going strong. All due to the power of Sprinkles.
I'm a latecomer to your channel, joined about a month ago. This is a very impressive video. The way these rounds just picked up the blocks of gel and threw them around is pretty cool. And that wound channel, omg! How much do these blocks weigh?
Pity i cant get a real version of either of these hahaha i have to settle for the gel blaster versions here hahahaha thanks for the videos
50 BMG because...” ‘merica!”
338 NO QUESTION! !
For the question at the end. My answer is .338 I'm actually headed to local gun store in morning. They have located me a Savage Model 110 FCP HS Precision 338. Now I just need to decide what glass I want to put on top of it. (Been leaning towards a VX-5HD 3-15 x 44)

What scope do you recommend for 338 lapua and why
LOL LOVE that intro, you got him finally!
i loved your video!!! I have been trying to figure out what my next AR build was going to be and i want a beafy cartridge and i was looking at ballistics charts and FPS and stats on all kinds of rounds. What they use in Africa while on Safari on truly large game? I am what you call someone that likes to be prepared in any situation. If there was ever a chance i had to protect my family in an SHTF situation where i know what may be coming and can get my family to a safe space,i would want a system that i can use at a very long range?Still havnt maid my mind up on the rifle which ill be using for long range competitions actually!LOL I just wish i had more hard data?
2 years later n Kenfolk are still on the KZread
I would have to go with the 338 just for the simple fact is because I like them.
That laugh after shooting the 50 BMG through gel.....like a kid trying out a new toy!

6:56 put your- sorry, this is a family friendly channel, never mind.
Damn! Those are bad ass and beautiful rifles! Getting me all excited!😬😬😬🇺🇸
Barrett 107 and for the 338 the same brand love the MRAD. But to be honest I would like you to review one of the nemo arms 300 winmag because if I was given any long distance gun of my choice it would be the NEMO Watchman . I got to shoot a NEMO Omen a few years ago and wow what a amazing gun. super accurate at 1000 yards and the buffer system they got on that Ar platform is so amazing very little recoil for a big round. I worked for a large gun store in Oklahoma that sold over 2 million a year when in its prime i got to play with lots of toys and the Nemo is king for me.
Not exactly sure what what learned here other than the 50 BMG is MORE devastating than the 338 Lapua at close range. Would like to have seen the results of each at a more realistic distance, say 1000 yards or more.
Best intro ever, keep up the great work!

.50 BMG purely because of the "You have a WHAT!?" factor. Dear Santa.....
