Don't know who said it but: "Heart of a lion, brain of a fox, body of a sausage, bark of a doberman.". So true! New neighbors were so surprised when they found out that great big bark came from my little Buddy!

I have a long haired. He's the best thing in my life!

Oh! Those massive feet! The longhaired have fur on the bottoms of their paws, too. That was a new one for me--I guess there are a other breeds with furry feet. Not good around pine trees in the summer. A little bit of sap up into that fur and hardening--having to cut it away so carefully. It would stick his toes and fur and whatever else got caught up in it together like glue and get painful. Had to monitor because he wouldn't complain until he was almost crippled.

Had I known how funny/sweet/cuddly dachshunds are I wouldn't have waited until one literally showed up on my doorstep. I was so relieved when no one claimed him! He's the most charming little companion--a standard longhaired that happens to be twitching in his dreams curled up against my left hip as I write this. He makes me laugh and I thank him every day for rescuing me!

@ Rosemarie, you have no idea. My beautiful brilliant only child passed away from pneumonia 5 years ago today. Had it not been for this dear doggie (still curled up against my left hip) needing me I don't think I'd still be here. We joked that he was sent down--either an angel or an alien sent to study humans--because he was so perfect and didn't bark until we'd had him for 3 weeks. Finally he barked at a knock on the door and we knew he was just a plain, ordinary dog--but sent where he was needed the most. He's still perfect, btw!

My dachshund does a lot of similar things like how she drinks dishwater water

They are realy Cute and very smart :).

Dachshund:half a dog tall but 2 and a half dogs long!

My current dachshund łs a smooth-haired chocolate dapple.Her name is Remley, and I adore her. I have had Hansel- a red smooth haired, Christie- a red long-haired, and Gretchen- red smooth-haired. I got my first dachshund when I was twelve, and I was hooked on the breed.

I have 2 of my own and they are the best!

They're so cute. I used to hold my dachshund's feet, thighs & front paws & say rabbit feet, chicken thighs & t-Rex arms & she'd get mad & bark. lol she died & we miss her so much.💕🐞🩷

It's a kind of sickness isn't it? I'm 57 and we've had dachsunds my entire life. We had five until our last one left a year ago. He was almost 20. Little old fart. I miss that little shithead deeply. I live by the code. Once you go Dauchsund, you never go back. 🙂🙂

One of them looks like my sausage dog and might be when our fam went away and somebody that works for my mum looked after him bc she had same tattoo as my mum’s worker did 3:46

Sandra Pavao I think it's called a long haired tan dapple? They can come in so many colors and 3 different coat types. But all doxie! ☺️

Longhaired dachshund. A miniature, I think. 3 varieties--smooth coat curly coat and longhaired. 3 sizes--standard, mini and rabbit which is in between the standard and mini and pretty rare. Bred to hunt rabbits! The longhaired were bred to go after ground-dwelling birds. Not sure about the curly but probably bred with a specific use in mind. They come in lots of colors and patterns. Smart, funny, loving companions.

I had a dachshund who almost turn 15 years old and he was my baby even though it been four years he been gone i miss him every day he was my guard dog he would protect me and my parents and the house and he love my grandpa also everytime we would go to his house he would know where we’re going when we were in the car with him and when I see this dachshund getting the squeaky toy on iPad I really want to know what is the name of that app for my English bulldog who acts like my old dog 8:03. I may love my English bulldog but my dachshund will always be my baby and my grandma before she pass she actually gave us the money for him and I felt like when he pass I lost another piece of my grandma

It’s not that I hate them, I developed a dislike for them after my neighbours go one and let it bark outside my bedroom from very early, each day waking me, and then slamming shut doors letting it in and out all day. There’s only so much barking and slamming doors one can take being that loud.

Rather badly made. A D+ effort trying to make a quick buck off all the unsuspecting sentimental fools on KZread. At least try to do a better job adjusting the sound volume and clip quality to make a more coherent clip.

why do humans pretend these dogs are babies, they are dirty shitting peeing barking mutt machines, only interest is food, but the owner is convinced it's love...must be desperate going around picking up dog shit anywhere and everyday. I am having to move house due to one next door barking it's pathetic head off at nothing, outside my bedroom window.
