# 325 Belsaw sawing first logs with new blade and 2 speed husk

The husk needs a few more adjustments but the concept seems to work great.

These are nice saws for one person as you don’t have to walk around a husk and engine. Thanks for the video

Handiest tool I have is a two foot cant hook. A larger diameter pulley on your fast feed would help alot.

Best operating Belsaw I'v seen, nary a thing wrong with that saw. Seems the "M" pulls the saw better than the Deere A.

There is definitely a difference doesn't seem to be lacking power like the a.

you have inspired me to try my belsaw mill again i run mine with an m also but with the pto ,have had some real bad luck with mine hit one of the dog handles and bent a tooth on the saw and that let it tear the hell out of the aluminum guide then the carb went to hell on the m so i shut her down and went back to my bandmill where did you get the blade

I like that interesting trailer wheel log turner. That would be a good silent helper. Did the drum board scale come with this saw?

The board scale is homemade, there is a video on the build but i don't know what # it is

@@survivingmaineona20acrefar77 Thanks, I'll look for it. The flimsy scale that came with the saw is not impressive.

@@jgoogleheim8880 Not at all, I fought with mine for years before giving up on it. The drum type is worth the work to build.

Have you considered building a hydraulic husk, the ones I've seen have a very smooth and even feed rate.

What year is your Belsaw from? The M that you have on the sawmill is much better! Grandpa had a super MTA on his mill

No idea what year, they were tagged but not serial numbered but it does have the old style track and I don't know what year they changed to the angle iron track.

Hi I'm Dave Montgomery I have my Grandfather's mill Belsaw A-14. I want to put the M-14 Drive in. Thanks to you. I have a 42inch blade for it. I have 2000 teeth for it. And a saw sharpener. I have a couple of questions? What RPM on the shaft for the blade. How big are the pulleys on the Hurst? And thank you for the two speed drive. How big are the pulleys ? And how much RPM? I have a 140hp GM for it. But I think I need a governor. I'm asking for help. Please help?

The blade rpm will be marked just outside the hub, if it is an old blade probably will around 600 for a 42". The pulley sizes in the husk are four 8" pulleys one ten inch pulley and a 6" pulley and yes you should not try running the mill without a governor.
