This Jodie touched me and as a grown man I dropped a few tears. This is the life we chose congratulations to everybody that graduated that day welcome to the greatest Air Force in the world. Every time I feel like giving up I will watch this to motivate me to keep going while I fight for our country.

You're not the only one who was touched by this. I went thru BMT in 1982. Still have contact with my MTI. Greatful everyday for the opportunity to have served in the USAF.

yes it does. One of my mates was an accidental casualty in Desert Shield (pre war). we ere both in kingdom but at different bases. it wasn't until we got back to the states and I called to say hi that I learned what happened.

Listen, I am a proud Air Force Vet...came through Lackland AFB in 2007...did 4 years....just looking through random bmt videos tonight, and this one legit got me teary eyed and hella emotional LOL... CROSS INTO THE BLUE BABY!!!! USAF 4 LIFE HOOOOOAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Been almost 4 years now... went through in early 2018. All the ladies in my BMT flight still keep in touch... an amazing experience and an amazing cadence!

Absolutely beautiful. Every time I see this I Cry. May God keep them all safe.

This is my squadron and I love having Lackland as my techschool because I get to see it each day

Been out for 40 years and somehow this cadence came right back to me.

Man our blue rope mti marched us to graduation with this and when I tell you I was standing “standing tall and looking good” man my eyes were watering so much that morning. Drive on knights! Ready for battle!!

Seeing all these videos of before covid made me really wish family and recordings were allowed bc even though its only been a damn month I miss him lol. Man I cried. I love the military and hope to be in the Air Force soon. I’ve always supported the military since I was in like elementary school. Now years later and have a little time debating it, trying other careers and never having the military option slip my mind, I know that this is my calling. I can’t wait. ❤️🙏🏽🇺🇸

Wow that’s crazy I graduated bmt November 23, 2022. Sgt boelter did this Jodie for us as well. I was the guidon bearer for my flight. I could barely hear him from the wind , rain and flag flapping in my ear as we March to the prc. By the time we got there everyone in the flight was on the verge of crying. It’s crazy you spend the whole time at bmt wishing it was over but that last day you wish you had one more to spend with your wingmen.

SGT Krotchie was the best MTI 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Our MTI did this jodie on our way to graduation... It hit different that day.

Just recently graduated from the 324th, FLT 488 on July 9th, 2020. My MTIs were TSgt Judie and TSgt Edwards. We did this jodie as we came back into the squadron after graduation and it still hits as hard now as it did then.

I remember my encampment and my brothers. APHLA AVENGERS. Best squadron. (Air force auxiliary) We learned a lot , failed, trained, got to do some fun shit, hella fun. Cant wait till AIR FORCE BASIC TRAINING

For me it was not too difficult saying goodbye to my Boot Camp Flight Members (3702 FLight 102). What was difficult was saying goodbye to my fellow Teletype Crypto classmates at Sheppard in early June of 1987. I mean when you are part of a core group that did almost everything together for 5 months........

I came through Lackland back in 1964. I don't remember if there were female recruits back then. But, it sure was a very good time there. The obstacle course was too easy.

This was my MTI and my flight actually made this jodie about 4 months before this was taken

I was in the Air force in 1978-1982 was awesome time , Crew chief on fighter jets at Tyndall AFB 325th AGS attached to the 95th Fighter Squadron. A little story one day on the flight line my jet landed and i parked him put the ladder on the side and the pilot had been out west somewhere. He said hey Shoe can you help me with something i said dont know what is it . this is 1979, he said i have 2 cases of Coors beer in the luggage rack (kinda like a fuel belly tank but a luggage carrier) he said if you get it to the fence ill give ya 2 six packs . I said yes lol i was 19 . So he gave me 2 six packs and I got in the Box truck we used on flight line and said hey Sarge Tech Sargent lol you want a cold coors beer , he stopped the truck and said where did you get coors beer ( in 1979 coors beer was not sold east of the mississippi yet) i said dont worry about it you want a beer lol he said hell yes, so there was 6 of us working that day so we all got 2 ice cold slush beers lol , technically they were bootlegging beer on a fighter jet lol we had so much fun down there what memories I salute all Veterans thanks for your service

I was in the 324th flt 474 honor flight in 2007.

When I served there was an AFI that stated everyone either wore a jacket, or no one did. The flight looks jacked up with people dressed differently.

A Jody (Jodie) is more of a song really and more "fun" on long marches than normal cadences. It comes from the name given in Vietnam to the guy that is back home with your girl. Basically Jody went to school and you were deployed and now Jody has your girl back home. Thank you for your service.

Who cares if he was mean that's his job. He isn't supposed to be nice to a trainee. That's why the AF is so soft because people like to say people are to mean and abusive, well suck it up it's the military it's supposed to be hard on you if you cant handle it stay out.

@@patrickmac9403 There was a scandal not too long ago, 322 TRS and possibly another was involved in raping female trainees in the pt supply. There is a boundary to their meanness. Those involved have been convicted in court martial and serving their time.
