I remember back when I worked at Island View Casino in Gulfport Mississippi. We were told we had a VIP party coming in to eat with us. When I tell you I almost fell to the floor when I saw George Jones and Tracy Lawrence walk in. Tracy was my childhood. And of course George Jones being the Legend he was...it was just heart stopping. I didn't get to serve them but I must definitely lingered b near by. Tracy was at one end of the table and George was at the other. At one point Tracy got up knelt down next to George, put his arm and him and started to sing Alibis! My favorite Tracy song. I felt I was in a dream. I was standing near the door as they were leaving (of course!). A gentleman that was eating with them was walking out taking with Tracy and the gentleman stopped and stuff said "Cara, don't think I didn't see you singing asking with Tracy." I was so embarrassed but Tracy stopped and shook my hand was so kind. By far one of the best days of my life.

Wow I never know a Birmingham was a style of house. I related it to the City. My dad went to Alabama from WV to run a coal mine in that time frame. When I went there for spring break I met a pretty girl I really liked as a 17 year old boy so that’s what that song meant to me. I was not far from Birmingham and and had a little love that I had to leave and go back home and I still think about her to this day.

you must only listen to country prior to 1980. by the mid 80s you started to see bigger hooks in the songs, but the music stayed true to the genre. there is still a alot of steel guitar and fiddle in Tracey lawrence music.
