Hello Friend, I realize when I was measuring the resin that it may look like I didnt measure 12 ounces of resin but I did. I paused the video to save some time. also when showing you how to use a cup that doesnt have measurements on it, I should have said to use water in your measuring cup, dump it into the cup you want to use for your resin, mark a line, fill your measuring cup again with the same amount of water, dump it into the cup and make your second mark. Then dump out the water and now use that cup with the marked lines to measure your resin and hardner

White Base Paint ( Colorplace Semi Gloss White Wall Paint)was thinned with a tiny amount of water
For all the colors and interferences I made a batch of pouring medium. I used 3 ounces of Vivid Enamel(sold by Colourarte) and 2 ounces of Clear Gloss Water Based Polycrylic. This can also be made using 3 parts Glidden Semi Gloss untinted Deep base paint bought from Home Depot and 1 part Polycrylic. they both work the same for me❤I then divided the pouring medium equally into little cups and added 1 interference color to each cup. I used approximately 1/8th of a teaspoon of the interference powder per cup. For the Tube paints I added a pea sized amount.
Cell Activator was 1 teaspoon of the Golden Carbon Black and 1 ounce of American Floetrol. I have used Aussie Floetrol and it behaves exactly the same for me. This recipe will work if you follow it to the T using the same exact ingredients. It may however not work if you choose to substitute an item. I encourage you to experiment and find a recipe that works for you. Many of these items can be found in my amazon shop. Click on my Amazon Influencers link to get there and if you don't see an item try searching for it.

If you could show that, well that would be amazing too. So sorry for the lose of your beloved kitty. I know that's so hard. Thank you for all your awesome videos. Hugs!

I'm so sorry about the loss of one of your cats. It's so hard when their gone. Each one of mine has taken a little piece of my heart with them. Sorry I haven't been around much. I've been making face mask for my daughter and her coworkers. She works for LSU as a registered vet tech in the ICU area of the animal hospital. They have the filters but not enough mask for them. There are about 16 people, plus all the vets coming in and out that also are in need. I'm trying to make as many as possible. At least 2 each and there are many more in other parts of the hospital. I think she said about 100. Anyway, great video. Take care and I'll try to keep up. Love ya girl. xxx 💗🥰💗

That was a perfect tutorial Toots. I also ordered my Resin from KS and I love all the different sizes & options they have. I bought the Liquid Stone to use on Coasters for the heat resistance it has I think it was higher than any others I had checked out & all their products have a great working time. I also noticed while checking out the website that they offer pmt options to their customers which is great if you happen to need to split the pmt amount up especially if buying a larger quantity of Resin . I know of no other Company that offers anything like that so they are a great company in my book. Anyway your resin work ALWAYS looks perfect !!! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and skills with us & I look forward to.seeing & learning more !! 😘😘😘😘😘

Hi Tammy, thanks for the info. I really enjoy the fact that you teach as well as do, in all of your videos. I would love to come to the U.S. to get hands on instruction but it ends up being thousands of dollars especially with the dollar exchange. We pay $1.30 to get $1.00 US funds. It really adds up. So I thank you for your instructions on your channel. 😊I thought I had to wait weeks until the art was totally dry. Is this process good for canvas as well as when created on wood? Looks like your resin is very good but unfortunately I can't get it in Canada. I find Art Resin yellows so I only use it if I'm mixing colors into it. Stone Coat is my go to for top coating. Take care Cheers

Hello lovely lady!! I ordered the KS Resin today!!! I put the order in my cart on their site Monday and they sent me a 10% off code, but it was only good till yesterday. I emailed them and asked if they would extend that code just till today, since I got paid, and they never answered me and the code didn't work and then their checkout was not working. I ended up buying off of Amazon today and couldn't use your code for the discount, but it was still much cheaper than the resin I told you I was using. So, I am expecting it next Wednesday to Friday it says and I get to play with it next weekend!!! Thank you for showing this tutorial!! How do you fix the edges after the first coat when it pulls away???? That is my thorn in my butt right now...the edges!!!

How many layers should I do? Since you have a large container just 3 to 5 minutes of stirring is enough is that correct? Sorry so many questions. What temperature does your room need to be to do your resin. I experienced that my resin left sticky residue or pitting because my room was not warm enough as I was told. Can I resin over a piece I already varnished before?

  • @tammyandersonart

    @tammyandersonart

    4 жыл бұрын

65 and up is the temperature that I resin in. If it dries and is sticky then it's not mixed enough. If it leaves Pitts then its something you used in your painting such as silicone or paints that are gloss or oil based and yes you can resin over a varnished piece

  • @tammyandersonart

Resin all the way for me. I never use varnish just because there is no comparison to resin. It's a totally different look in the end. I'll varnish a piece and show you the difference plus I feel resin protects the painting the best out of any finish. It's like putting a piece of glass over your artwork and varnish while it's pretty it just makes things look glossy where resin really magnifies the colors. I will always go this way❤ I'll definitely do a comparison video very soon.

I live in Florida and cover my pieces to prevent dust. I also find that KSRESIN has a lot of bubbles and have tried different ways of stirring, only using up to about 6-8 OZ at a time. Any suggestions? Thank you, your videos are very helpful!

You have to torch the piece atleast 3 times after your done with it for the first 30 minutes. Although with any resin it looks like you get them all when you torch there are some stuck to the surface of the painting that you dont see and they rise eventually. If you can send me a picture to my email of one of your bumpy cured surfaces It would be very helpful. My email is artbytammy@yahoo.com ❤

Is it better to torch or use a heat gun? I’ve used a torch and always have bubbles

A heat gun will work but weather you use a torch or heat gun you need to repop the bubbles for up to 30 minutes after your done because they will continue to rise. Now the torch flame penetrates the resin which reaches deeper than the heat gun but in the end after all the torching or heating is done I've never had a bubble except for ones I didnt get because I missed them. With my aim. I usually torch, 15 min later torch and 15 minutes after that torch again and I dont have problems. The best way to not miss anything is to work during the daytime when you have some light coming in and you can look across the surface to make sure you havent missed anything❤

Tammy Anderson Art Thank you got a quick response. I usually works days, but I’m thinking I can set up the lights I use when quilting! Thanks for being a inspiration not only to me but to do many! 💕

How much working time you have for the KS resin? Great video. Can you use a heat gun instead of a torch?

Hi Tammy, I hope all is well with you and your family during this pandemic we are going through right now?! I just wanted to know why you put 2 coats of resin on your paintings?

caroline ratcliffe no I have not got a reply yet. I only ever use one coat of resin, on my paintings I do on wood and ceramic tiles, and I’ve never had any issues. Not sure why she would do two. I find resin is too expensive to be doing two coats.

Rosemary Dumont Thanks for your fast response 👌 I too only do a single coat of resin unless I find a pesky whisker has landed and cured in it, in which case a quick sanding and a thin top coat. Job done x

Tammy, thank you. I just ordered some resin for my daughter, and I ordered the Stone Coat by accident. Is that food safe, since some of what she needs to coat are what she calls charcuterie boards. Don't know how to spell it. They are like cheese boards. I hope it will be okay. Thank you again for your wonderful videos.

I would check the KS Resin website. I don't think any Resin is food safe aside from incidental touching. I could be wrong, but from what I've seen, most artists only cover a small portion of the board for this reason.

Instead of wasting the liquid material in the cup and then pouring from one cup to the other cup can't you just use a scale?

I think one liquid is heavier than the other that is why you do not weight it.
